Going this Sunday and plan on fishing into December We are getting a warm spritz right now. Will also be out Sunday but in all honesty it might not be until December. Good luck. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted November 7, 2020 Super User Posted November 7, 2020 Tomorrow is going to be 68, so I'm gonna try to get one near the beach on Lake St Catherine. Should be a good time Quote
schplurg Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Fishing this weekend. Like I just wrote in another thread, getting out away from work and real life is critical for me right now. I'll fish a mud puddle if it's all I can find as long as nobody else is around. I need some reeelaaaaxaaaashhhhuuuun! 3 hours ago, Boomstick said: Tomorrow is going to be 68, so I'm gonna try to get one near the beach on Lake St Catherine. I caught a pickerel and a small bass at least. Quote
schplurg Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Caught 3 birthday fish today Many thanks to the fish who participated. 1 Quote

Happy Birthday. It’s nice to be able to fish on your birthday. Plus the presents you got. Mine is in May, usually trout fishing but the presents are there. 1 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted November 9, 2020 Super User Posted November 9, 2020 Lots of people are catching muskies now so that is always a good option this time of year. Quote
MGF Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Maybe I should break out the musky tackle because I haven't been able to catch a bass since my last post. The river warmed up to about 52 and I got skunked Saturday. Sunday and today I hit a little public pond and I didn't get a bite. All the water seems a little stained all of a sudden...I guess from all the leaves in the water? I guess I really don't understand what's going on. Quote
Super User Koz Posted November 10, 2020 Super User Posted November 10, 2020 The weather has been consistent here but the fishing has not been consistent at all. Some days have been dink days and I have even been shut out. Other days have been great. Fished for an hour today and managed a single 3 pounder. Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted November 10, 2020 Super User Posted November 10, 2020 We are cold here in Minnesota (snowing as I write)... but we still have open water. If we can have days in the 40's without wind, I'll still go. My tactic in the Fall is to target shallow lakes where the fish can't go way deep. The goal each time out is to eliminate water so if the lake is 50-60 feet deep they could go a lot of places, but many times out of reach. If the max depth in another lake is 15, 20, 25 feet - you have a chance to find structure/cover and still have some good days. Last weekend - despite 41 degree water temps I caught these fish in 7-9 fow on a lake that tops out at about 18 feet. They have far less places to hide... 2 Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted November 11, 2020 Super User Posted November 11, 2020 Yesterday was warm, and I caught four. Today a front came through, and I froze my ears and fingers. I caught six just the same. Three of these ten were nice, hefty fish. What I noticed is that they didn't feel cold; they felt "moderate", or warmer than I expected. So I'm gambling on an extended period of good fishing, right into the late fall. I'm not gonna argue with that! ? jj p.s. - yesterday was a sand pit, and today was the Mississippi. Quote

brrbass Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 The good thing about living in Arkansas is it never gets too cold for the fish to bite. As I get older it is starting to get too cold for me to want to go. Deer season starts Saturday and will pause the fishing for a few weeks. Also, we have a power plant lake not far from here that stays warm most of the winter as long as they run the plant. Quote

Randy Price Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I stopped at one of my companies quarries Friday afternoon and caught 2 smaller bass (1.5-2.5) but they aren't biting like they were earlier in the year. Quote
Brett's_daddy Posted November 22, 2020 Author Posted November 22, 2020 Well, the season is officially done for me! I just spent the afternoon winterizing the boat, put Sta-Bil Marine fuel stabilizer in the tank and ran it for 15 minutes to make sure the stabilized gas got up into the motor and fuel lines, fogged the carbs until she puked and sputtered to a stop, removed the plugs and sprayed some fogging spray in there too, unhooked and removed starter battery and trolling motor battery, removed fish finder and of course brought in all my rods/reels and tackle for the winter. So long 2020, don't let the door hit ya' in the arse on your way out!!! 1 Quote
Michigander Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 The Triton is tucked in for the winter, but the kayak is still going until the ice physically stops me. The view this morning before launching into a balmy 34F degree air temp: Quote
lo n slo Posted November 23, 2020 Posted November 23, 2020 i caught 8 spots Friday afternoon and 7 more yesterday morning. 2 were on a lipless (RES) and the rest were on Zoom Shakey Tail worms. swts here are in the mid 50’s and all the fish we’re caught in 15-20 fow. i’m having to scout them out some but finding enough of them i suppose. no big fish though, just the standard 1 to 1 1/2 lb class spotties. looking to go again tomorrow afternoon and then again on Friday. fingers crossed ? Super User DogBone_384 Posted November 23, 2020 Super User Posted November 23, 2020 I fished a lake on Cape Cod yesterday. It didn't go well for me, but two guys fishing from shore at the launch landed 3 SMB, all around 4 pounds, in the time it took me to walk back to my truck and back down the ramp. Water temps were 55.x. I'm parking the boat for the season and sticking to small waters with my kayak until it freezes. Quote
