Well, we just had our first snowstorm of the season, got about 6” of snow last night and today and the high temp was 32 degrees. Now it is supposed to be in the low 60’s starting Thursday but that’s good weathers last gasp and the highs after next Thursday are in the low 40’s with lows in the upper 20’s/low 30’s. I won’t have a chance to get out fishing most likely so I’m thinking of winterizing the boat this weekend while it’s good weather, putting the rods, reels and tackle up and calling it a turbulent, crazy, fun and disappointing season and wait for next year and hope for less craziness and a better fishing season!

I believe I am with you on that one!  Already pulled the line off the reels and pulled them off the rods.  Going to attempt to clean my reels this year.  Need to get the boat winterized also, hate to do it but I don't think after this warm front there will be any good temps to look forward to till spring!  Time to get depressed!

When I say that I fish from ice-out to ice-up, I mean it. If the fish wanna bite, who am I to disappoint them?      jj

I'm fishing as long as I can cope with the weather.

Last outing was Oct 10. Winterized the boat, brought it to storage, and then we got 6 inches of snow along with 10 days of below 40 degree temps.

Of course this week it’s very warm again with temps near 70 every day.

Things are warming up here in Michigan. It’s supposed to be 70 by Sunday with (hopefully) tolerable wind. So the plan is to take the wife out her final time Friday and 6poundbass and I out most likely our last time Sunday. We’ll see though the following weekend doesn’t look too shabby either.

Nope , not yet. Good weather rest of week and keep letting the weather tell me or til there is no bite . Although the Yaks r now tucked away til spring so it’s nothing but the banks .

I usually call it quits sometime around Thanksgiving. If I’m lucky and the weather holds I’ll be able to get out a couple times in December.

You'll be missing out on your best chance at some of the biggest fish of the year if you do. Cold weather doesn't mean the end of bass fishing season, it means the end of fair weather fishermen season, and that's my favorite season.

I just booked a guided trip to Clearlake next week.  Looking for fall tips from an expert.

plus my local small lake is still producing fun hits.  The bass have gotten bigger!   I cracked the code there for sure.   I fish weekdays so I do not give up the secret. :)

My biggest bass come anywhere between December and April. Agreed it keeps alot of boats out of the water

I fish until either my guides freeze or the lures start bouncing off the lake. Usually I'm calling it quits around Thanksgiving sometime depending on the year. But we've had 60 degree christmas days before so it's always good to have the rods ready to go.

I'll be sitting in a treestand for the next 2 weeks but will be back in the boat afterwards.......hope I remember to carry a rifle to my stand and not a baitcaster.

It's an age thing.

I'm in Northwest Iowa and we recently had a bout of crap weather. Several days of mid 20s for highs and single digit lows...small ponds even had ice for a few days. Water temp dropped into the high 30s...about as cold as it gets around here before freezing. Went out Saturday with a buddy decent weather but high bluebird skies and frigid water...aka not great fishing conditions. We fished a few hours and managed 6...no its not over!

It's usually the wind that will dictate my trips here thru early next year

Cold temps I can deal with, when the wind is ripping in the cold

I'm at home watching fishing or fighting

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I couldn't fish, so I'll keep on fishing.

It's going to be in the 70s for the next week here in western NY.  Plenty of fishing left.  I have been known to shovel snow off the ramp to launch, if needed.

We've got some beautiful weather coming up the next few days here. I'm going to take advantage of that. The temps are dipping down again next week, but I can deal with that. Very likely my season will be done by the 3rd or 4th week of November though.

yep, i’ll be out there this coming Friday and Sunday. can’t wait. we’re fortunate to have halfway decent weather here in western NC for much of the fall/winter. good time to refresh those brush piles too.

Good weather the rest of the week so I'll get in whatever fishing I can. I took yesterday off and wandered 3 different rivers just poking around from shore. Access was limited but I found a couple SMB. This weekend I'll get out with my son one day and my wife the next day...not enough boat for three.
