BRIAN77703 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 hey fellas, due to funding issues and just plain ole hassle, ive decided to sell my bass boat. its just too much hassle for me. it needs too much work, but my uncle is taking it off my hands for me, hopefully his son can overhaul it and get it back out on the water. i hate to see a boat sit. i couldnt evan pull it with my little s10. but some good news with the money iam getting iam getting a pelican raider 10e 2 man bass boat. i know i know you jon boat guys are prob frowning on me right now, but ive had a jon before and it just wasnt stable enough for my fatboy self. ive been in 2 mans before and i was really impressed. but to get to the point, does any one know any good sites for getting 2 man accessories ? does any body else have 2 mans, iam very interested in seeing how other fishers rig theirs up. thanks again. see you out on the water and god bless. done Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 i know i know you jon boat guys are prob frowning on me right now... Absolutely not man, your money, your choice. When I was stuck on the shore, I would have been happy with an inflatable raft and a paddle. You need to get what works for you and your fishing. There are a few guys I see on Wylie who troll around in a Pond Prowler. They catch a lot of fish, especially one dynamic duo I see out there a lot. For your boat, what type of stuff you looking for? I have stuff at West Marine, BPS, Gander Mountain, Cabellas, and other marine stores. Quote
harshman Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 here is my two man rig, I absolutely love it, I actually fish it ten to one over my big rig. Last weekend it saw 50+ bass in a family farm pond Basshound 10.2 46lb Minn Kota Trolling Motor Eagle Cuda 242 Fish Finder (not shown) Has built in live well, battery holder, hp rating up to 7.5 Harshman Quote
TommyBass Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I have a 10 ft Pelican I keep in my back yard pond.... great little boat. Has many little places on the gunnel to keep stuff from rolling around. Cuts through the water very well. Its actually even rated for a decent little outboard. It is very stable, me and my father are both around 180lbs and we can stand in it just fine. I have a 55lbs minnkota stern mount on it currently. Not sure about yours but mine came with a wired plug for putting a trolling motor on the front. I am considering moving it to the front so I can keep the battery in the back. Should spread out the weight more when Im going out solo, so I dont ride a semi-wheely and the wind won't have its way with me. I am also considering putting a cheap manual winch on it for an anchor. Sorry, no pictures currently. Im sure you'll love yours. Quote
BRIAN77703 Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 thanks fellas, this is going to be my regular small lake cove boat. i plan on making it a comfortable all around boat. nice boats, but i wanna see more lol !!! is that just small utility trailor? i got to get me a trailor Quote
Live.2.Fish Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I just got this last month. I have a 50lb Trolling motor and a 8hp merc. I haven't had a chance to take it out yet. I bought it from my uncle, its about 5 years old and used maybe a dozen times over those years. Motor runs like a top. Quote

harshman Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 my boat is on just a small utility trailer, slightly modified. i have a bow roller and winch on the front of the trailer, carpeted 2x4 side bunks to center the boat on the trailer and a plastic bed liner floor to make the boat slide on and off easier. All done after these photos were taken, if you'd like I can get new ones. Harshman Quote
bigmountaineer Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I bought this last week for $400 bucks, He bought it new 3 months ago all of it at Gander Mountain for $700 bucks plus the accessories. Brand new fished once, it's the 8e version prewires for a trolling motor or fish finder. Came w/seats, brand new Minn Kota 30lb Endura Trolling motor and HD24-DP Interstate Deep Well Battery, brand new as well. Checkout your local craigslist for a deal. I am a big guy too, 6'5" 280lbs. This thing works great. I take out one seat and set in middle and it works great. I just need a trailer now. I know you can buy those haulmaster trailer kits for cheap, but I would love to find a local deal. All i bought to finish it off was a battery charger, anchor, rope, and emergency paddle. That's it. Good luck with the 10e. Any got any mods they've done? I need some light mods, and possibly some tackle storage, and maybe rod holders. Thanks Quote

I'm kinda leery about how the plastic will hold up, but I bought it for $500 with everything. New they are about $2,500 with trailer and no accessories. (not worth it in my opinion). I'll let you guys know how it performs on (my) maiden voyage. Quote
12_Foot_Johnny Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 The plastic will hold up just fine. I don't have the pro. I have a slightly different one but still 12 feet and still made out of the same stuff. I'd take that boat anywhere but the open sea. Quote
12_Foot_Johnny Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 In fact, here are two youtube links of me on my "plastic" 12' jonboat (2 man boat) Motor is a 3.5 hp merc (2009) Quote
BRIAN77703 Posted April 13, 2009 Author Posted April 13, 2009 i found the raider 10e for 499.95 at acedemy sports. this is the cheapest two man ive seen, hell of a deal it sounds like. Quote
Sharkbite Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I got this boat fpr $100 and the trailer for $250. It makes a great 2 man rig. Quote
12_Foot_Johnny Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Before my current boat (see my message a few above) I owned the Pelican 10E. Stay off of choppy water with it. Other than that, don't have a complaint in the world about that boat. Quote
BRIAN77703 Posted April 14, 2009 Author Posted April 14, 2009 thats a nice vbottem man, i like the color. Quote

"The Godson" Hehe.. love it! ;D Thanks man I named it after my grandfathers little jet boat he had. He was a big boater and when he got cancer he had to sell his boats. My grandfathers nick name was the God Father. He looked just like him. So thats what he called his boat. Then he got the speed boat and called it the Godson. Quote
