Don’t understand all this modern tackle!

 

dont know how you can fish such long rods?

 

dont know how you fish braid?

when I was a kid in the late 60’s we had braid on baitcasters you could not even cast 20 feet.

leaders? Only fly fishing I thought 

 

sci fi lines? Co this and co2 that?

how do you keep up with all this jazz 

 

is fishing and art or a science?

fun or work?

 

one rod for everything, now you gotta have 10 special specific rods

 

white rods?

fluorescent orange?

lime green?

really,

 

race car painted boats and race driver clothing this is really getting ridiculous 

my grandfather fished in a business suit, some ole timers wore coveralls, my dad fished in green shorts black socks dress shoes and a golf shirt, in the 80’s we wore a white cotton short sleeve shirt with fishing patches all over it.

 

never would fish an Alabama Rig? Or Carolina rigs?

 

baitcasting backlash city? Or are the new sci fi reels solving that too?

 

i only fish 5 to 6 foot spinning rods that are black graphite 

 

spinning reels that can be back used with winding 

 

4 to 8 lb clear blue stren mono

Everything evolves over time. Things improve. If you enjoying using what you got, that's all that matters.

I don’t want to be negative but it does not seem like improvements to me, I prefer simple equipment simple methods and fun fun fun till her daddy took her beetle spin away

Have you ever punched mats/thick pads for bass that you otherwise wouldn't be able to get to? It'd be MUCH harder to do that with a short rod and mono as opposed to a longer rod and braid. That's just one example of how things have improved over time.

 

Now, I won't say everything has improved. Or that all the newer baits/techniques are necessary to catch fish. But anglers do have more options nowadays to help them put fish in the boat, and I don't think that's a bad thing.

no most pads I’ve fished are sparse or have lanes and edges 

never did the punch thing that’s usually a jig presentation I rarely fish a jig n pig

Because you haven’t tried, doesn’t mean no improvement. I would be sick and quit fishing long ago, if I had to use same thing over and over, day in and day out to catch fish. Fishing is fun, catching fish with different gears and techniques is much more fun.

What is that sci fi line I seen in videos that seems to float in the air

I’ve tried most ways but just prefer old 5’5” spinning outfits light line and small lures

 

for example I was right there when the flipping craze hit and most other crazes too

 

was one the first to fish tube worms

and jig n pig 

 

far more success on sissy fishing than all else put together 

 

of course my idea of success is not dragging a 10 pound log to the boat, been there done that, much more prefer catching small bass on every cast and enjoy playing them

It’s not. I suggest you pick up a new rod and reel, even a budget one. You’ll see and feel the difference instantly. You clearly have no idea what you’re even criticizing. I don’t mean that in a rude way. I’m sure you’re an experienced fisherman and clearly you excel at fishing light tackle. But I don’t see how you can slag on this stuff without trying it.

any video with baitcasting is like fingernails on a chalkboard

Who cares what everyone uses or whats available, if someone wants a flashy bass boat or multi colored rods with all the latest tackle tied on it doesn't affect you in anyway, unless of course the aforementioned stuff is unattainable to you, then the OP makes sense, smells like jealousy to me.
