Looking for a good all - around mono line in the specific line  sizes / diameters  above on a bait cast reel for :  Top Water , Spinner Baits , Chatter Baits and Swim Jigs ?  ... Decent handling , abrasion resistance , lower stretch and good knot strength are pluses . Locally available Mono / Co-poly lines I am considering :

Sufix Advance

Sufix Elite

Sufix Siege

P-Line C-XX

Trilene Big Game

Trilene XL

Stren Original

* Some lines above only come in #12 lb. , #15 , & #20 lb. sizes ... In that case the #15 lb. line size is what I would consider .

Out of the lines you mention I use, love and trust both Sufix Siege and Berkley Big Game.

I highly recommend both lines.

Choosing from the lines listed, I've been using Sufix Elite in camo. Line is very manageable and the camo blends in really well with the stained water I fish. I have 10# up to 17#.

Thanks for the replies - While lines like McCoy Mean Green , Maxima Ultragreen , Sunline Defier are very good lines - I can't just walk in a local store to  buy so at this time it looks like Trilene Big Game , Trilene XL and Sufix Siege will be on the short list as they are available locally . P-Line C-XX would be a good flipping / jig line ; their pound test ratings are odd as their #12 lb. is like others #15 to #17 lb. line diameter .  Last comment is where does a mono like Sufix Elite fit in ? I see it on the shelf next to Sufix Siege - perhaps Sufix Elite better for treble hook lures or manageability in cold water ?

I use this for all treble hook presentations, but that is the only time I fish monofilament line.

I would double down on both those statements.

Armillo has been the best mono I have ever used.  I rarely get mono to last a whole season and this stuff looks like it may last for two.  I have fished 13lb heavily and it's still in good shape.

Check out the TT review of Sufix Elite.  Dry 12# broke at an average 20.22 lbs.  Wet it broke at an average of 19.94 lbs.  Diameter measured as specified on the package.  Line is limp and as such has a bit more stretch than a harder line.  Knot strength was great.  It works well on spinning reels because it lays so well without trying to spring off the spool (according to the TT review).  I've only used in to a baitcast reel.

I put 12# Elite on my Zillion 50th Anniversary reel when I got it.  Still resides there.  Abrasion resistance shouldn't be as good as harder lines.  I don't have to worry about that where I fish.

Try the 15 lbs good all around line.

I used the 25 lb for about 5 years for all my swim and glide lures from 1oz to 7oz with any issues.

Stren.  I cannot find a nylon mono that line that I like better. From big game to defier, stren wins .

I used to use this but converted to suffix advance. It is superior in cast ability and very strong. It is thicker in diameter so 14 is like 17 & 17 is like 20 in the sunline Defier Armilo. The Advance is the best I have found.

Buy a spool of 12 and 15lb big game and some kid line and lure. You can afford to swap it out often if for some reason you want to go lighter or heavier one day. Big game has high memory but the kvd line and lure really helps. At first I chose big game because it was cheap but now I just use it because I know I’m not going to break off a fish if I have my drag set right and a fresh knot.

I haven't tried all of the lines mentioned here, but at this point seem to be buying sufix lines (so 832 in braid) and of the monos, I do like Advance best overall. Elite feels and casts great, but is stretchy. Siege is really tough and strong, but does have memory (similar to, but maybe better than pline cxx). Advance handles pretty well and casts and fishes nicely (I am going to respool my reel that has advance, so after a season it did develop some memory; but that is also because I am running out of line). It seems like there are endless good choices and options on line though, and only so much time to fish.

Every time. Most under rated line out there.

Of the lines mentioned by the OP I like Siege. It is strong, casts for good distance and has good knot strength with the trilene knot. Use Elite if you need to use it on spinning, or you just like a more manageable line but with less abrasion resistance. Both lines are worth trying out.

Now my .02 about Defier Armillo, it is like Siege but better and Defier Shooter is like Elite but better.  Personally I like Shooter better than Armillo as it casts a little further. McCoys and Gamma are good copoly lines too.

From your list this would be it. Excellent line!
