Super User ChrisD46 Posted October 17, 2020 Super User Posted October 17, 2020 I have used Gamble Giggy Heads , Buck Eye Spot Removers , Bite Me Shaky Heads, Mega Strike Shake2 and Owner Ultra Shaky heads ... I prefer non - screw lock shaky head designs (except with the Owner Ultra) . What are your favorite store bought Shaky head jigs ? Quote

Super User Teal Posted October 17, 2020 Super User Posted October 17, 2020 Store bought? Only 2 of them that I really like... spot remover and the yum pumpkin head are the best two that in find in my local stores without having to drive up to dicks or bass pro an hour away. The pumpkin head has a wider gap to get a small beaver or small creature on. Buckeye spot remover is just tried and true staple. Other wise, I make them myself now. Do it molds has a couple of decent molds for them. It's just rewarding ngf to catch fish on something that you built. I still have alot of the BOSS HEADS and trying to use them up. But the boss I had to order. If you want a good value and decent simple head, boss is the way to go. I like the screw locks now...I didn't at first, but it saves a lot of baits from getting thrashed. Zoom and robo worms tend to tear pretty easy on traditional head. The screw lock takes alot of that away for me. If you are using z-man elaztech, on a screw lock shakey head you can use the same lure almost all day. Quote

Super User GreenPig Posted October 18, 2020 Super User Posted October 18, 2020 Buck Eye Spot Remover Pro & Owner Ultra both in 1/8 oz 90% of the time. When I go big it's a Dirty Jigs Mag Horseshoe Shakey or Owner Mag Football Shaky with 8" to 12" baits. Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted October 18, 2020 Author Super User Posted October 18, 2020 Thanks for the replies - I see a few mentioned I haven't tried yet that I will have to look into ... *A friend of mine just tried the newer Aaron Martens designed / Picasso Rhino Shaky head who indicated Robo and Zoom Trick / Finesse worms stood up well and hook sets were excellent (best he ever had on a shaky head) ... A little pricey (3 for approx. $5.79 + tax) but I may try (if I can figure out the rigging) . Quote
waymont Posted October 19, 2020 Posted October 19, 2020 These Stike King heads work well too: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_Tour_Grade_Shakey_Head/descpage-SKTSH.html Quote
