GReb Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 I haven’t purchased tubes in a long time. In fact it’s probably been 15-20 year. I ran out of my stash last winter so I need to purchase more. But my question is who makes a good thin walled tube today? I never cared for the thicker plastic tubes like the old Denny Bauer SK ones. My favorite ones were so thin that they were almost flimsy but they produced and my hook up ratio was great. I’ve had them in a Plano box so I can’t recall who made them. I can’t fish exposed hooks down here so I Texas rig them making a thin plastic very important since I use a thin wire 3/0 hook Any good suggestions? Quote
PourMyOwn Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 Snack Daddy lures is my favorite and is a slim thin tube. 1 Quote

Kdizzle Posted October 16, 2020 Posted October 16, 2020 If you want to buy in bulk, and tubes are the type of lure that lend themselves to doing so, then Getbit baits tubes are great. 2 Quote

Super User Teal Posted October 17, 2020 Super User Posted October 17, 2020 Gitzit tubes. Zman makes some I like too. Rigging is key on tubes otherwise you just miss the fish and get back a balled up mess. Instead of going in with the hook a quarter inch and then coming down, put the hook point and the bottom of the front and come through just bit and then bring the hook around. It makes all the difference. Skipping and pitching tubes is one of my secrets here on my lake that chocked full of boat docks. Make sure to use a Extra wide gap hook too. 1 Quote

Sorry not following your rigging way. Any chance you can take a picture of it rigged up? Quote
Finessegenics Posted October 17, 2020 Posted October 17, 2020 The Powerbait Power Tubes are super thin. But they work just as well as any other tube would. Not the best color selection though. 1 Quote

Super User NYWayfarer Posted October 17, 2020 Super User Posted October 17, 2020 Strike King Bitsy Tube and Big Bite Baits tubes are thin walled. Especially when compared to something like a Zoom super salty tube. Those things are the Big Mac of tubes. 1 Quote
BassinCNY Posted October 18, 2020 Posted October 18, 2020 Tender tubes or Power tubes are my preference for texas rigging. 1 Quote
