The Bassman Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 I like to brag that I catch bass in all twelve months here. Barely made Jan. with a few smalls and one keeper early in the month. Feb. is starting out less than promising. I can remember years that ice out didn't happen until March. Could happen this year. Quote

I managed this two of last three years. SE Mass & Cape Cod don’t always freeze over. ‘21 might be tough. I caught a single yellow perch in January, and with this cold snap might be locked out of February. Good luck getting yours. It was around midnight and a 16 inch (I believe) high pressure water main, there were two and they didn’t know which one was the right one was to shut off, so it took a bit. It destroyed the road and left a huge crater and ultimately took 3 days to repair everything. That one was fun. I imagine @lo n slo has some good stories of water main breaks. 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted February 4, 2021 Super User Posted February 4, 2021 Got a slick glaze of freezing rain last night and now there's a coating of snow on top. Its like a skating rink out there this morning. And its not going to melt anytime soon either with the arctic blast coming. Quote

Super User jimmyjoe Posted February 4, 2021 Super User Posted February 4, 2021 Ya gotta love that last sentence! "A storm tracking across the region spread 2 to 5 inches of snow across much of the region, but one of the bigger factors was strong winds that caused the snow to blow and drift. Roads were "completely covered" with snow around the time of the accident, according to the Iowa DOT, and travel was not advised. It is unclear if weather was a factor in the cause of the crash." 2 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 5, 2021 Global Moderator Posted February 5, 2021 Got some single digit highs and negative digit lows coming next week. I hate it when winter can't just get here when it's suppose to and decides to show up right when I'm hoping things will start to make a turn for the better. 2 Quote
Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted February 5, 2021 Global Moderator Posted February 5, 2021 Looks like we got 6-8” of the white stuff last night. The wind is howling and the snow is very lite so drifting is the main issue these next couple days. Winter is finally here! ? Quote
