Winter Storm Warning (which is the only time any snow here actually gets our attention) remains in effect and will run into tonight anyway ~

With more snow in the forecast everyday through Friday and air temps well below

the Mendoza Line, might be a while before I make any attempt to clear out the foot or so we have out there now.  Reestablishing the 'paths' back & forth from the house to the to the dog kennel and the back forty, have to happen every other day or so at least.

Good Times

Does that thing work on the really heavy wet stuff too?  I can't use mine when we get that slop.  It jams up and comes out like ketchup.

This thing works in EVERYTHING ~ no kidding.

And the newest models (this one is a few years old)

are better, easier to control.

I have to man handle this one a bit but that sort of

suits my style; for now anyway.

At some point I may 'upgrade' as I expect to have no problem re-homing this one.

If you're in the market - and these run a bit more than the 'box store units' but there's very little to NO PLASTIC on this build, this may be the last one you'll buy.

The roads aren’t as bad as I expected, the main roads anyways, but they’re still not the greatest. Work as expected is coming to a screeching halt. With that and the roads most of us will be skating out early today after the absolute necessary work is completed. A select few of us will have to sit until 3:30 with our thumbs up our.......noses waiting on emergencies.

The initial thought of getting paid to do nothing is appealing, but I can assure you it’s incredibly BORING!!! ?

I understand, you guys are very generous people, but you have to realize something, we have our own trials and tribulations to worry about.

And BTW, can you tell your Canadian friends to the north of you to keep their geese up there, they make a mess of our golf courses...Sheesh! ?

Those geese do here too. We’ve told them a ton to keep the geese but never listen. We told them to take Justin Bieber back too but you know how that turned out.

Well this storm didn’t disappoint we got dumped on to the tune of 10-12 inches in a span of 24 hours. We’re looking at another 2-4” by the end of Monday. Could be worse I could be living on the lakeshore, they got around a foot of snow and are looking at another 10” by the end of the day tomorrow.

That’s about what we’re dealing with today. On my side of Georgian Bay, when it and Huron aren’t froze up, we get squalls when the winds blow in the right direction and it’s the right temps. Today, the “snow conveyor belts” are doing their thing. Good day to stay inside with a hot cup of coffee and keep feeding the fireplace.  You can see me ( Parry Sound), right in the middle of all that crap.

This is always something that kills me at my job. I'm a plant tech 3 at a biorefinery. We work 12 hr shift work...all of our admin people aka management team work Monday - Friday. When we have a storm roll thru our GM sends out an email suggesting all non essential personnel roll out for the day. Obviously ops and maintenance are all that's left...you know the people that actually do the work to make the product. So if we are so essential why is his wage 2-3 times more than ours? I said this to him one time when he was busting my chops just messing with him and he got ticked even tho I was just doin to him what he was doing to me. He responded well our wages reflect our job skill level suggesting that anybody could do my job. I said your right all I had to do was learn how our entire plant\process and all the associated equipment works. Then I said I probably couldn't handle sitting thru meetings constantly only coming over to tell people what to do or criticizing mistakes while doing no actual measurable work of my own and then leaving early every time a slight inconvenience came up. Needless to say he was not impressed and looking back I shouldn't have done it...however I received no reprimand for these comments...possibly because although rude and unprofessional they also had alot of truth in them.

So how many meters of snow you think that lake-effect is gonna dump on you?

Surprisingly we’re only supposed to get up to maybe 20” in total, but with the wind it still drifts up pretty bad. The squalls will wave around, kind of like a scarf in the wind, so it’ll be almost sunny for ten minutes, then for 1/2 hour you can’t see 20’ in front of you. Makes for terrible driving conditions, especially out on the open highway.

All three dogs were doing the frozen paw shuffle this morning with the temps hovering around 3* and windchill at -9, tonight is going to be even lower.
