Rules of thumb in Tennessee:

What ever range they forecast for wind, add them together .  10-15 mph = 25mph

There is ALWAYS a 20% chance of rain in the spring.

The long range forecast is HOT in July and HOTTER in August.

Even if it "might" snow, it is NEVER expected.

Very Nice.

I use a very similar formula here

except the phrase

"and then double it"

must be added to the end.

You know, you post that photo a lot, was that you in a high school math class? ?

Most certainly could of been.

Never really 'got' algebra.

So you KNOW I was totally lost in geometry & trigonometry.

Winter storm watch posted here. Supposed to start off as rain and turn to sleet and then snow. Up to 6 inches of snow expected by Friday.

It was well into the 40’s here today during which is supposed to be the coldest time of year.

Well that was kind of a joke. I got maybe 2-3 inches and it’s the heavy wet kind. Tried snow blowing it. Didn’t work, came out like ketchup. Had to shovel instead. Back breaking work that reminds me more of the late spring snow in March.

Remember that it's through tomorrow eve - they're saying it's gonna start up again tonight with 2-4 by morning and another 1-3 by evening.

We got a little more over night, maybe an inch of the slushy type snow.  Not looking forward to shoveling it

Ya - this "6-11 inches" turned into a whole-lot-of-nothing.

I got a high-schooler who comes over and shovels me out.

Yep, I heard yesterday that we’re 34” below our average snowfall.

We are about average...zero.

Just missed a blizzard last weekend.  We had 1-2 inches forecast,

but the temperature did not drop enough.

Ya - our storm that was suppose to dump up to a foot? Temps have been mid 30s (low last night was 34)...so it's basically melting as it falls.

1/4 in our driveway in fargo-moorhead of wet snow sleet

if this no moisture trend keeps up till spring does that mean the lakes in minnesota will be much lower than a wet winter considering we get the average spring rain per annual records from past years?

Depends on the source. If stream/river levels drop, then ya for a lot of lakes. Spring-fed lakes should be okay, but they're few and far between up here.
