Hey guys,

Recently I heard from a Spool-Manufacturer that they plan to build an even deeper Spool for the Steez CT to have increased Line Capacity for heavier mono/fluo or Braid.

If this really is technically possible, how would a deeper spool affect the performance on the Steez CT? The reel is capable of throwing lures up to 1oz even though most people use it for finesse applications.

Would this affect the casting distance drastically on lures bt 3/8 and 7/8oz?
Or what are the downsides of an upgrade like this?
Does anybody know?

Best

A deeper spool would be better for holding a larger amount of heavier line.  That's The primary benefit.  I wouldn't say it's an upgrade or downgrade, it's just an option that can expand the capabilities of the reel.  Who is making the spool?  I'm interested because I want to fish steelhead with my Alphas CT SV and it uses the same spool as the Steez.

I just wrote with someone from "japantackle" who told me that there were already some inquiries from people regarding a deeper spool and they are planning to manufacture one in the near future. If someone knows if theres one already, then I`m also interested.
