Im looking to make and craft inline spinners this ice season. I am planning on buying a kit from lurepartsonline to start. I would appreciate help on what pliers I should buy to bend the wire. Lureparts has two kits but one has been listed as sold out. I like a 1/4 ounce spinner with (day in and day out) a flashy blade.  Thanks for comments.

   Get the deluxe.   https://www.lurepartsonline.com/Round-Nose-Pliers?quantity=1&custcol11=373

You might want to consider one of these tools, too. They're not magic, but they can be handy.

I've got one of those wire formers but it has a Netcraft label on it!! Bought back in the late 70's.  They work well but you have to practice to form tight loops, and the small loops like on store bought you won't make with this former!!   If you get one buy it with the book!!! and the heavy wire eyed piece PAINT IT!! and DON'T lose it!!  it's used for making spring closures for the old Hildebrant style spinners, and hook leers!!

Making inline spinners is very popular with North West steelhead-salmon anglers and guides.  I recommend you look at a couple companies that sell tools, and parts to these North West anglers.

Many of the tools and parts are the same, or similar to larger national companies like Barlows,( which has a great selection) but there are many different blade colors, and other cool stuff only available from the Northwest based companies.

Two I recommend are Fisherman's Shack, and Spinner Dave's.  There are many more, these are just two that I have ordered components from in the past.

I probably made well over 100 inline spinners in the last 2 years. Its something that I find fun and dressing treble hooks is the best part. Send me a message and I can email you a step by step if you'd like.

detroit1 - No dopey doesn't write for Northland!! LOL

I like my Netcraft former and I've made lots of spinners on it!  But it does take practice!!   I've always thought about the Hagen's wire former but I'm cheap!! and I can make just as good with what I have!

I also tie flies and jigs so I have all the materials to dress up treble hooks.

King fisher - Thanks for the company names! I'll have to check them out, not that I need any more stuff!! LOL

Thanks for responses guys, I got the french spinner kit from Janns Netcraft as their kit included pliers. I rebuilt an old spinner that had the wire break, and my first go at bending the wire with the round bend pliers wasn't bad. I could see myself making a nice collection of smallmouth spinners for personal use.
