ACGOG Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 My dad died a couple of years ago and I recently had the opportunity to clean out his storage unit. I found some of his old fishing gear, and though he primarily liked to fish saltwater these looked a little small to me for doing that. I'm not very familiar with them and was hoping someone could shed a little light on them for me to let me know if any of them might be useful for anything inshore. 1 Quote
Hewhospeaksmuchbull Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 I dont know the specifics of these baits, but all of them will catch bass. 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted October 11, 2020 Global Moderator Posted October 11, 2020 Rat L traps on the bottom right, gold cotton cordell redfin bottom middle. The popper looks like storm chug bug 2 Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 11, 2020 Super User Posted October 11, 2020 Redfish lures. Lipless with a fin are Lewis Rattle Traps, without the fin Cordell Spots or both could knock offs. Spoons look like Luhr Jensen Swidish Pimple spoons or knock offs. Surface lures look like darter type not a Chug Bug and and the chugger a Japanese or Diawa Tuna popper. Jointed lure is Cordell Redfin. My best guess, Tom 3 Quote

mrpao Posted October 12, 2020 Posted October 12, 2020 Darn. Knowing all these lures makes me feel old. And I'm not even that old. Yet, I have owned on used most of these in some form or color at one time. Quote
Super User WRB Posted October 12, 2020 Super User Posted October 12, 2020 Salt water chug bug has what looks like a mouth but is a black stripe..good call. Tom Quote
ACGOG Posted October 12, 2020 Author Posted October 12, 2020 So for years and years I've pretty much used nothing but Rage Craw's and am in the middle of building out my tacklebox. Short Fish mentioned they'll all catch bass but are any of these worth incorporating? Quote

The Chug Bug and Rattle Traps are still really popular baits and the jointed Red Fin has a cult following in certain areas. I use the Sprite Spoon a lot for schooling fish. 1 Quote

That gold cotton cordelle is nice. 1 Quote
