I found a good spinning rod and thought this would be such a perfect for baitcaster. I know some have converted their, how much would it cost to do such thing? The rod is not too expensive, I just like the power and action. Not sure if it worth to convert one to another.

I dunno the cost - Mike at DVT might be your best bet to ask. I do know it'll involve replacing the handle and guides - spinning guides really aren't workable for a casting rod.

If it were me, I’d save the hassle and just have a custom rod made with the right handle and guides... it might cost a little more but you get what you want without jerry-rigging it and/or getting something not quite right.

It won’t cast its best with the wrong guides best you’ll get is a rough idea

Rebuilds are labor intensive thus costly. Unless it’s an expensive high end blank or something so unique it can’t be matched, a ground up build makes more sense. If you sent the blank I could take measurements and shop for a match.

I've done this a couple of times and it's worked out good.  I had the components on hand or it would have cost a lot more.

I’m not a rod builder but a friend of mine do it as a hobby. The rod is 7’3 UL 2 pieces 0.5-7 grams lure weight, Majorcraft Croatage maberu series that I like it a lot for crappie fishing. I’m not sure if I can match the blank in US.

You can match any blank in the US.  But the problem is that the descriptions are not objective.  If you can get it to DVT he can match it and make a new build for you.  Then you have two rods with your favorite power/action.  I don't think that converting makes any sense at all.

I think if you took that rod to a big store, with a big selection of rods, you could pretty well match it right off the shelf.  Take a duck decoy anchor (or something similar) with you to deflect the rods, find one that deflects about the same (match power) and look at the deflected shape (match action) and you've got it.
