Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted October 1, 2020 Global Moderator Posted October 1, 2020 It's crazy that a RM Mother looks so small next to the Chaser ? I couldn't imagine actually tossing that thing for any length of time. 2 Quote

Yes the mother is already huge and mother chaser way more bigger, thats the plan, I am going to make normal cast by my 908 Dobyns, then drive the boat on free spool for 100 yards or more, then start the retrive to cover the water, if I get follower ill stay in same place and try make longer casts as much as possible, I have plan to record it and if I catch something ill share it to you guys. 4 Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted October 1, 2020 Super User Posted October 1, 2020 Hmm... Looks like something to decorate a man cave. I can't imagine anyone actually fishing them, but if you did it would be trolling only. 2 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted October 2, 2020 Super User Posted October 2, 2020 That Chaser looks awesome... be great to see the vid of you catching a giant on it. I have a bad habit of losing my most expensive swimbaits and for some reason rarely if ever lose the cheaper ones, so I had to cap myself at the Negotiator level of RM's. 1 Quote
ajschn06 Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 Holy $&@! I had to go check the specs and prices on these guys after seeing them... mind blown! 2 Quote

Yeah, the big bait game gets expensive.... I've casted off a Mother, it's not a good feeling! 1 hour ago, ajschn06 said: Holy $&@! Super User soflabasser Posted October 2, 2020 Super User Posted October 2, 2020 They are well made lures but I see them more as a collectors item than a lure I would like to fish with. More big bass have been caught on jigs than any of these swimbaits. You can buy plenty of jigs for much less. 1 hour ago, ajschn06 said: I'm jealous of people that get to fish places where you can throw those kinds of things.... I live in Florida where 4-7 pound bass are common and lots of bass fishermen have 10 pound or better PB's. These big bass will hit large lures just like they will hit a small lure. The way you present the lure and where you are fishing is more important than what lure you are fishing with. 2 Quote
Super User tcbass Posted October 2, 2020 Super User Posted October 2, 2020 This lure is bigger than the bass in our Minnesota lakes!!! ??? 3 Quote

Super User WRB Posted October 3, 2020 Super User Posted October 3, 2020 Slow trolling is your best option and having the Mother custom painted rainbow trout colors for a follow up lure. The big Chaser looks great and a big striper will eat it, big bass may bump it or follow it, 15 lb+ LMB may eat it, very rare fish today. Good luck this pre spawn Jan-Feb, hope the DFW plants trouts. Super User NorthernBasser Posted October 3, 2020 Super User Posted October 3, 2020 For the cost of these I want a "every fish on every cast" guarantee! 1 Quote

Tom Yea I was joking haha, but are most of those rods designed around much bigger round reels or could they accommodate a 400 tranx or something? And would the action of the rod be appropriate for much smaller game fish than Tuna? Would a 10lb bass even load up the rod? That said if Gary put out a step above the 908 I'm sure there'd be some legit interest. I know some guys were getting dedicated custom rods built for the mother chaser. I mean they're already spending 800 on a lure what's another 500 for a rod haha. 1 Quote
