bassman97504 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I'm almost ready to make a move out to Knoxville and relocate, but before I do, I need to get acquainted with a realtor who is also a bass fishing fanatic. I want a realtor that will be able to find me houses that are both close to where my office will be in NW Knoxville and also be either on or very very close to great bass fishing water. Does anyone have anyone they can refer to me that fits this criteria? Quote
BassNJake Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I dont know any realtors in the area. However, I have looked quite a bit on the Knoxville Assoc of Realtors search pages for houses/land. https://link.flexmls.com/zs6d64si90i,16 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted October 2, 2020 Global Moderator Posted October 2, 2020 I’m sure I know a fella or two but simply looking at a map will put you where you need to be. Joe fox and Tyler fogarty dabble in the outdoors and have a good realty business (Fox and Fogarty) . I also know a good realtor out of maryville, known him since knee high. @tnbeardedrealtor on Instagram our shop is in NW Knoxville, in karns. Melton hill is the closest lake but fort Loudon isn’t far and neither is watts bar. I bought my house based on boat ramp proximity so I smell what you’re stepping in Quote

Ask, if you could rate the 3 lakes you mentioned to fish on a consists t basis for bass, how would you rank them from 1-3? Quote

Honestly I like Norris better than all 3 but watts bar is a fish factory probably second only to chickamauga in East TN. The only drawback of watts bar is there is not a real “city” anywhere close. Kingston is the biggest city in the area and it sometimes seems like traveling back into the 1970s haha. I worked in Kingston half of the day yesterday and saw big cheese mats of scum on the clinch river arm of watts bar from the interstate. Melton hill is also loaded with milfoil like watts bar. If you want to get a feel for what fort Loudon fishes like, tune into last years bassmaster classic. I think @Jermination has really grown to like Melton hill over the last few years. It’s a smaller lake but holds nice fish Quote

I love inside info like this when I'm about to make a 2500 relocation almost strictly for the bass fishing and also for the fact that my state of Oregon is going to hell in a hand basket. Quote

Anytime man, don’t be afraid to ask any other questions. It may not rain as often here as Oregon, but it rains a lot harder Quote
Jermination Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 I fish all of the local lakes pretty regularly and fish a lot of tourneys on them. They all have their times, and pretty much all fish somewhat differently. Norris, Cherokee, & Douglas are tributary lakes so they are deep and clear(these are great cold weather fisheries and full of smallmouth--Douglas has been hot as a fire cracker most of the year the FLorida strain have grown and the results are showing) Loudoun is the most difficult lake to fish around most of the time, there is not a stretch of lake that is not developed and the amount of pleasure boaters is overwhelming at times. Watts Bar and Chick are both good fisheries that get absolutely pounded. There is a big tourney on either one of them pretty much daily. Tellico is an interesting lake, i did really well on it this year finesse fishing. Melton Hill is a personal favorite of mine because i do so well on it, not a ton of folks fish it and it can fish rather small. You can literally do any style of fishing you want within an hour drive. Deep clear smallies 30 minutes north, squarebill/lipless burning on loudon & watts bar, top water frogging and punching on chik 2 Quote
bachgeo Posted September 10, 2022 Posted September 10, 2022 Just moved to Kingston, from WV for the fishing due to retirement. Still learning the lake and looking for anyone as a fishing partner please contact me at bachgeo@yahoo.com. Quote
