In fact, I just received 3 offerings from @Siebert Outdoors that I'm 'testing' out. More to follow . . . A-Jay 2 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 The most valuable lure is the one that catches lots of fish. Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 MVL for me this year is a 1/16 ounce jig head. Doesn't seem to matter what small plastic I put on it, the thing just catches fish! (I could have said Ned Rig I guess.....) Runner-up MVL is a 3/16 SK Bitsy Bug jig with Baby Menace Grub trailer because it caught my PB smallmouth in April. Quote
ajschn06 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Swim Jig - biggest and most fish, but also spent the most time fishing it. I'm gonna throw the Keitech Noisy Flapper in as honorable mention. Unfortunately, I wasted most of the summer not fishing them consistently. I've been throwing them the last couple weeks and the amount of action I've got per hour has blown away anything else I've used this year... I also threw a stand alone Keitech (3.3" on a 3/16 head) for the first time this year and it was really productive, but nothing big. Did get my 7 y/o his first two "casting" bass though.... 10 hours ago, MN Fisher said: I don't remember even rigging up a Senko this year. I try every so often, telling myself I have to use it because it's so "deadly". I never get more than a couple casts before I'm bored out of my mind and I take them out of the boat for a few weeks. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 In years past, it's been the same Popmax. This year it's the Rage Craw in Bama Craw, using various riggings. I have to make an honorable mention. I have yet to throw a senko in 2020. 1 Quote

As for that trailer, wow thats awesome! I had a friend hand pour something similar but was using it for Ned Rigs and it didn't have that paddle tail or side fins. How does the paddle tail effect the Chatter? I always use a Zako or Rage Menace because I had some trouble with paddles on the Keitchs as trailers.. That thing has some killer color though! Here are his and little S/O to his insta if anyone wants to get any. These baits are on the soft side (good thing IMO) so they pair well with the vibrating jig. They seem to 'absorb' some of the jigs vibration and then only 'transmitting' a portion of it through the trailer and eventually to the small turned up tail. Additionally, and this is what may be contributing to much of this ones success as a trailer; the baits tail will allow it to 'swim' on a tight line - so a slow decent to the bottom. Definitely does so on a slack line free fall, but in cooler water temps, that tight line presentation is killer. As for the side fins, for my drop shot deals I leave them on, but for trailer applications, I clip them off tight to the baits body. Not needed IMO. A-Jay 1 Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 For me it was the spinnerbait. So much so that I started a thread on it. During my June vaca, it saved the day when the plastic bite along with everything else died during stacked cold fronts. During my mid late September vaca when we got a warm front and everything else died the spinnerbait came through again. They aren't magic baits, but are a valuable tool that I don't fish nearly enough. This changed my black friday plans from a fair amount of jerkbaits to a lot of spinnerbaits and I also got 22 1/4 war eagle spinnerbaits from outlet bait and tackle in July. Never hurts to be prepared;) Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 1. War Eagle Spinnerbait in gold shiner. This caught me a PB early summer. Runner Up: 1/2 oz. flipping jig. Got several big bass in the last year on the jig, but I got a 7.2 lb. on my birthday. Quote
Super User Koz Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 Hands down it was the 1/2 oz Strike King Sexy Shad buzzbait. I didn't fish as much this year as I have in the past few years, but I caught a ton of 5 and 6 pounders on this bait. In fact, I'm on my 3rd one this year because the bass blew up the first two. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted October 1, 2020 Super User Posted October 1, 2020 I am not sure what the bait of the year is. I caught my biggest bass of the year on a spinnerbait and it definitely made a good run starting in late August. I believe I caught the most fish on either a Berkley Powerworm but it also may have been on an arky head jig. 2 Quote

Super User Bankbeater Posted October 1, 2020 Super User Posted October 1, 2020 Zara spook for me. The bass will be ignoring all other topwater baits, but they’ve been going after a spook. 1 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted October 1, 2020 Super User Posted October 1, 2020 Powerbait was the only plastic I threw for over a decade. 1 Quote
Big Swimbait Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 The 6" Bull Shad accounted for my biggest fish so far this year. No DD's yet but lots of 8's and a couple of 9's - thank you Lake Fork. I wish I had this bait back in the early 90's when a 15 wouldn't crack the top 50 on Fork. But for numbers by far, has been 3/4 of a Maxscent General GP/Red on a Nichols JT Magnum Ned head. Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted October 1, 2020 Super User Posted October 1, 2020 I caught fish on a lot of baits this year. Biggest fish was caught on a baby brush hog. Runnerup was caught on a rage tail cut-r . Numbers winner this year was zoom super flukes followed by speed worms. Quote

I throw them ALL the time, but this year I found Yo-Zuri 3DS in 2.75 and I have been slaying them since mid July. We just got our first cold front this past week. 80 during the day and high 60's at night. I'm expecting the fish to flip on 'meal time, winter is coming' and these 3DS are going to be getting worked, worked hard. Quote
Super User ATA Posted October 1, 2020 Super User Posted October 1, 2020 Even I got my PB on robocalls worm on drop shot, but ill go with Senko and jerk bait which I got most of my bass on them. Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted October 1, 2020 Super User Posted October 1, 2020 Z-man Finesse TRD. Used on the tiny child rig. I use a mushroom head Neko weight superglued in place and a 1/0 straight shank worm hook instead of a Neko hook. Tex pose the hookpoint to make it weedless. Caught my 2 biggest fish of the year on this MVL http:// http:// http:// http:// 1 Quote
Tatsu Dave Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 For me the last 4 years its steady been a 5" stickbait........usually GY senko's, but sometime's BBB trick sticks, and of late SK ocho's, and I also have to include GB rattlesnakes and their snake'o the newest additions......did I mention both wacky and T-Rigged Runner-Up has been a pit boss burned at or near top over weeds and slow to medium speed deeper. SC53 Posted October 1, 2020 Posted October 1, 2020 3/8 oz swim jig in multiple colors and a gold bang o lure. Quote
