Way north bass guy Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I’ve been chasing brown fish mostly this year, and really got on to some concentrated fish on deeper structure ( Great Lakes). My number one bait by a huge margin, really for the last couple years, has been a Berkley Maxscent Flatworm in natural shad on a drop shot. Maxscent Flatnose Minnow in baby bass has done well also ( my sons favourite bait this year). 4 Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 Almost every year I could go with spinnerbait, finesse jig or senko. This year I'm happy to report it's a 1\4oz swim jig with homemade bluegill skirt and a menace on the back. It really ain't even close. That said my 3 biggest bass of the year....a 7 and two 6s came on a lipless , a chatterbait and a spinnerbait. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 30, 2020 Global Moderator Posted September 30, 2020 Probably a Ned rig with a 1/16oz chartreuse head and a Hot Craw Big TRD or junebug TRD. ROY would be a 6th Sense Catwalk. Tied that sucker on and haven't cut it off except to retie. 1 Quote

Bluegillslayer Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 tie between 4 inch power worm and 4 inch stick bait. Both have caught me many bass 1 Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 Super Fluke has been my MVL for years. The Shakey Head tries hard but the Fluke is just too consistent. 2 Quote
Mbirdsley Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Hard bait : what ever worked that day plastic: black/blue flake chigger craw 2nd place: any craw/creature in summer craw color Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 My MVP of baits so far for 2020 has been a vibrating Jig. Specifically, the Tungsten Evergreen Jackhammer with hand poured Goby swimbait Trailer by a Paul Krews Custom baits. Before I ever made my first cast with this one I was calling it The Thunder Goby. Just enjoyed say it. And on the first trip out and several trips after, The Thunder Goby was making it happen by putting fat brown bass in the net. A-Jay 8 Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 I'd have to say, Senko, and a 6" roboworm. Both have always worked well for me. Quote

Love that the tails are already 'up.' Seen a few of your videos that have had me wishing I had a bag or two....or 10 Quote

I did find that clipping off the side 'fins' is the way to go when using them as a vibrating jig trailer. If you PM me your name & mailing address and I'll spot you a few to check out. Do it. BigAngus752 Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I've caught the most fish using a football jig with a NetBait Paca Slim trailer (the trailer has been crucial) and I've had the most fun catching fish on a bladed jig with a Rage Tail trailer. Big jig year this year. Quote
MGF Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I don't think I could pick one. As soon as I start to feel dependent on a specific bait I want to find something else that will work as well. I did good on an archy head jig, tube (fished a couple of different ways), split shot rig with a zoom finesse worm, fluke and a couple others. Quote
Cdn Angler Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 Aside from senko/whopper plopper, which are perpetual champs. I did well with the Jackall Rerange 110 in Perch colour and the Ima finesse popper. Quote
Hook2Jaw Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I got back to my roots this year and started whopping them on a ⅛-⅜ ounce lead bullet, 3/0, and YUM Ribbontail. I've also cleaned up with a ½ ounce jig, both casting and pitching. Also slapped them with a ⅜ Booyah Blade. The jig has led for my best day this year as far as a limit goes, and the ribbontail has been best for numbers. MVL? I'll take a half ounce jig tipped with a YUM Craw Chunk. 1 Quote

In fact the only plastic I used this summer has been jig trailer. But what really produced for me has been a Jerkbait. 1 Quote
