At work we order aluminum profiles that come shipped in the same heavy cardboard tubes.

We get anywhere from one per week to five per week shipped to us (always by UPS).

For 15 years I don't recall one ever having been damaged.

I'm not saying it's a conspiracy but...

I can't buy into the "how Fed Ex is treating their employees"

Managers are employees.  FedEx doesn't care about the condition your goods.  They got it to your door.  That's their target, and that's the problem.

When you walk into Fedex here is vey apparent that the employees hate their life. One lady would not take a rod with a Shimano shipping label because it wasn't an original and it was printed. Couldn't send in an NRX for this and I would have to wait to have a label snail mailed from Shimano. I have had packages completely lost they never even contact you about. I avoid them completely for 100 reasons. None are perfect but man insurance is a must.

Never had a problem with FedEx sending or receiving. Our local office is sparkllng clean.

The employees are pleasant and very helpful. I don't know, but it could have something

to do with the World Headquarters next door.

Shipped 2 of my 8' rods via USPS insured in a TW shipping tube I saved. It took 15 days to arrive to distenation about 400 miles. The TW tube was folded in half with to broken rods. Can't imagine what happened? It's been 2 weeks and haven't had a reply from the PO, impossible to follow up using damaged shipping procedure. Can't call a live person.

Beware!

Tom

I don’t get the “insurance” thing. You ship a package, it should be insured. How a business can take your money, lose or destroy your package and say “Oops! You didn’t insure it! So sorry!” is hogwash.

I agree. I can't imagine being hired to build a tile shower for a customer and them saying "do you guarantee my shower against leaks"?

Well since you asked, a non leaking shower costs extra. For an additional fee, I can offer a warranty...

Yeah right, I think I'd be out of business in short order.

Granted, if it’s a very expensive item, it’s understandable. Don’t ship a $20K diamond ring that may get lost. But standard shipments should be covered up to $1K. It’s an easy way to limit liability.

**Update**

So I sent 6gill an email indicating the rods were broken when they arrived.

No questions asked, I got a reply saying new replacements would be shipped out. Took a little over a week. And both new rods arrived today.

Great customer service!

I'll try them out this weekend and see how they perform.

I'll keep everyone posted.

Just handling them here in the house they do seem to run a little on stiff side for their action rating. Not a bad thing at all.Based on other reviews, I knew this going in to the purchase and purchased accordingly.

I guess I’m the odd man, I’ve shipped at least 4 rods and no issues. Probably received 6-7 rods with no issue. It’s only a matter of I think, mostly through FedEx and 1 or 2  usps.
