I got one couple months ago for my crank bait and jerk bait rod carry in my car(second set up). very light and design for casting light lures, worth the money to have DC break system.

I got it from. here:

https://fishing.asian-portal.shop/category/select/cid/352/pid/301520

but it is out of stock, this company is very good, 3 to 4 days and your order is here.

Isn't this just the normal SLX DC?  I've seen them side by side with Curado DCs and they are the same size but those were a 150 reel.  Interesting.

This has a 70 size spool

But is it a compact frame or the same as the curado DC frame?

Probably same as the slx dc 150 just shallower spool

I have been following this reel for awhile and almost pull the trigger so many times. I’m waiting for those that don’t mind spending just to get a new thing to compare side by side with SLX DC. Still wondering why that reel test guy hasn’t got one yet since he was the very first one showing that clip and he is crazy about nothing but distance.
From my understanding it is the same frame as regular SLX DC, spool are the same diameter but shimano modified the spool to have shallower and narrower slot for line lay, make it 70 vs 150. The line with travel left to right shorter make it less resistance travel to line guide. The guy from Japan using this reel casted lipless crank (I believe) 90 meters. I’m not sure if there are any other different. The SLX DC 150 weight 7.6oz while 2020 SLX 70 DC weight 7.5oz, wondering spool weight might not be different much either.

I have 2 of these reels. They are nice. I had 3 SLX DC reels that I sold in favor of these Japanese versions, besides looking a lot nicer (gunmetal as opposed to black) they seem to cast better from what I've noticed. Not sure if its due to the 70 size spool or what. For my fishing style the 70 size is just fine. The 70 holds about 70-75 (210-225ft) yards of 15lb InvisX and the 150 size holds about 90 yards (270).

As far as size goes, they are identical in size and shape as the US 150 version. Not sure if something inside them is different though as they feel a little nicer to me then the US version. I have also tries to put the 150 spool in the JDM slx and it DID NOT fit.

I know the new 70 MGL is a 150 with a 70 sized shallow spool, I'd assume they did the same thing here.

The 70 MGL is a small reel.

Is it? I haven't seen it in person yet. I could've swore I just read about this the other day, but I guess I'm mixing it up with something else. This makes me happy, though, I've been looking forward to the SLX 70 MGL, and I was disappointed when I thought it was a 150.

Yeah, that's what I was originally talking about. A 150 sized reel with the shallow 70 spool, right?
