Super User DitchPanda Posted September 28, 2020 Super User Posted September 28, 2020 Never seen this color in person..how would you describe it? What does it represent? Quote
Mbirdsley Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Kvd Magic color represents about everything a small mouth eats. I only have it in a 5 inch ocho. But, I bought it for ultra clear northern Michigan lakes where you can see 14-15 feet down. I’ve not caught anything in it however, I’ve not really fished it hard yet either. . Best way to describe it would be a Smokey Greyish green with a touch of translucent mixed in for good measure 1 Quote
FishinBuck07 Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 A green pumpkin with little blue flake fading into a clear pearl color is how I would describe it! 2 Quote
BoatSquirrel Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 In some of the clearer lakes I fish, the bass have a bit of a blue tint on their cheeks. All of them do, smallies and largemouth, so I figured the baitfish must also. After experimenting with a few other baits with the same tint, the KVD Magic is now the go to swimbait. Magic indeed! padon Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 I use it in the caffeine and it works great! 1 Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted September 28, 2020 Super User Posted September 28, 2020 In Missouri, it is a readily available color. It is one of the Strike King colors that Walmart carries. The Strike King version of the fluke in KVD Magic is a good bait. To get a better match to the lakes I commonly fish, I take the bait and dip the tail in chartreuse bait dye. Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Im not the biggest fan of SK, but they have some really nice colors. I like how they use smaller fleck with the soft plastics, it gives an iridescent the baits an iridescent look. The coffee scent is good, it lasts a long time. Quote

I would agree with this, KVD magic in the rage menace is my go to chatterbait trailer and it’s been killer for me. Quote
Super User DitchPanda Posted September 28, 2020 Author Super User Posted September 28, 2020 Guess I'm wondering if it's a good imitator of bluegill or if it's more shad/baitfish color? Quote

padon Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 I meant caffeine shad.its a good minnow ,baitfish , panfish imitator. for a pure shad imitator id go with the smokey shad. Quote
Frezzy Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Keitech's "smallmouth magic" is basically the same color. I do very well on this color in a clear water reservoir for smallies. Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted October 4, 2020 Super User Posted October 4, 2020 I see it has a very good “generic “bait fish color. It looks like nothing in particular but a little bit like everything that swims and can’t fight back. A KVD magic rage swimmer and a jig with a skirt tied to match is pretty much the only color I use for swim jigs anymore. Quote
txbassassassin Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 I think it might be based on the northern bait fish Kokanee. Quote
