Hi everyone I have an issue with a brand new Lew's bait caster combo.  I purchased a few months ago and decided to set it up this morning.  The issue I'm having is that when I install the new line after about 20 turns I notice a drag, tightness of the spool with some resistance.  I thought I had some lines between the spool and the shaft because of the resistance but when I opened the side plate and half way pulled the spool out I noticed it was clear.  I closed it back up and removed all the line.  I inspected the reel and the reel functions correctly with no drag, no grinding, no resistance.  So I started to put the line back in and reeled it slowed and again after about 10 turns  I started to feel the resistance.  This  time I removed the side plate cover thinking it was the drag and continued to reel and the resistance was still there.  Has anyone had this issue?  Can any one give me some advise?

Heres what happened to me with the same exact problem . It wasnt the reel , it was a cracked line guide at the tip . It would reel in nice and smooth until the lure was hanging below , then the line  would drag in the crack,  which just happened to be at the bottom of the guide .
