What baits do you get in that color? That does seem like it would blend in nicely though. Often times you want your lure to stick out like a sore thumb & draw the bass's attention. Starry Night is a custom color found only in the Rayburn/Toledo Bend area. It was made by Renegade Lures. Can't find em anymore ? 1 Quote

I've often thought that too - how did this name come about? I worked at a nursery in high school that grew about 40 acres of those gourds, and never saw one unripened that color. They may turn that shade as they rot; they end up a blackish-gray color. I guess 'green' sounds better than 'rotting'. I've found that the color that bass like most is the one you're down to your last few about the time you get to waling on them. They'll turn up their noses at everything else. Quote
Super User scaleface Posted September 29, 2020 Super User Posted September 29, 2020 Purples and blues have been my go to colors for decades and still are . Green pumpkins and avocado green just have not performed well for me . Bright greens have though . Quote
MGF Posted September 30, 2020 Posted September 30, 2020 I think that color is usually one of the least important aspects...but GP sure seems to work well in my river when the water is clear. The GP TRD definitely out performs the other colors we've tried. I've always done well on black jigs. Black with a little blue is ok but some of these new jigs that are more blue than black don't work as well for me. Believe it or not I've always done well on yellow jigs too. Of course I've caught lots of fish on purple worms and white spinner baits. Shad colors. Right now I'm catching fish on shad colored flukes. So I think GP is a great color sometimes but we all know that we can do well with other colors too. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted September 30, 2020 Super User Posted September 30, 2020 For craws, it doesn't seem to work as well as black/blue for me. I have one place it works and the water is clearer there. Quote
