Super User J Francho Posted September 24, 2020 Super User Posted September 24, 2020 I like shooting, but hunting not so much. There's good fishing in the fall that many miss because they're in the woods. 2 Quote

moguy1973 Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 Hands down it would be fishing. I can release my catch back into the water relatively unharmed. Can't really say that with hunting. 2 Quote
BayouSlide Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 I just wish my German shorthairs would also point bass. ? 2 Quote

If I could only choose one I would choose free dive spearfishing since it is both hunting and fishing. I can vividly recall many spearfishing trips where I patiently hunted a big fish and these are some of my fondest memories. Second would be multi species fishing. Quote

That's not always the goal, especially if it's made out of venison or turkey. Actually if it's made out of walleye it may find its way onto a cedar plank and in the smoker around my house. Most bass escape the cornmeal dredge, though. 1 Quote

I'm probably a 99% CWR fisherman though. Kept a mess of walleye and pike when I was in Canada last year, but those are probably the only fish I've kept in the last 10 years. 1 Quote

Super User Darth-Baiter Posted November 17, 2020 Super User Posted November 17, 2020 I just recently changed. I RARELY fished. I hunted plenty. Bow hunting mostly. Big game. I think I like the associated camping. I LOVE sitting around a campfire- poking at it with a stick. Love it. COVID started me fishing again. I love the frequency. I can simply load up my kayak and go fishing. Twice a week is common. And I’m home again that same day. That’s nice. nis if I can kayak fish, and poke at a campfire? My head may explode. I sat out this hunt season because of the virus. I’ll pick up my bow again for spring turkey. Quote

Bluegillslayer Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 It would be fishing 100%, where I live there are so much deer that you could harvest one from the front porch. All you have to do is go sit near a apple tree in the morning or evening and wait till a unlucky buck or doe comes along its not that hard. I personally hunt because I think its kind of fun, but its mostly just for food and because most of my family does it. With fishing you are constantly doing something, casting, re tying, looking for places that look "fishy," I know its different for everyone, but for me hunting is waiting. When me and the deer make eye contact, when I aim and shoot, when I look and find the deer and we drag it back home, I get a undescribable adrenaline rush but it only lasts a little bit, when I catch a good fish, that rush can last a day or two that's why I would choose fishing over hunting but I love both. Last_Cast Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Thats tough. Id say fishing, only because I get excited with every multiple hit. Quote
MaxBess Posted December 3, 2020 Posted December 3, 2020 If I had to choose only one, I would choose fishing. Quote
