OnthePotomac Posted September 19, 2020 Posted September 19, 2020 You can see the 5' bunk just fell apart as did the one to its left, but looked normal until I lifted up on it and it just disintegrated. Bear Trailers put the slick covers on them and it worked for 9 years, but actually hid the wooden bunk disintegration. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted September 20, 2020 Super User Posted September 20, 2020 So what about the other 3 bunks which appear to be in good shape? Quote

I believe I saw in another thread that he was replacing them at the ramp and ran into problems . I always wondered if the carpet just holds moisture on the wood longer and Causes the boards to rot faster. Thought about doing just bare lumber on mine Quote
Tatsu Dave Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 I like the bunk glides with poly corners and middle pads. Keeps the carpet from tearing up at corners and makes the boat slide on and off easier. I installed a set and found the boat slides along easier on and off, they also hold the boat up a little to let the bunks dry faster. Little wax every once and a while and well worth the money. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted September 20, 2020 Author Posted September 20, 2020 Tuesday they will all be replaced with Ultimate Bunks. You cannot tell it, but the remaining bunks have rotted under those slick covers. They were nice the nine years they lasted and came that way with the new Bear galvanized trailer nine years ago.
