Buzz bait(s) and tubes

Ok, who do you think makes the "best" Buzzbait and Tubes? Looking for a fall season buzzbait, and finesse tubes. Thank you!

I’m really liking the freedom buzz bait, you can put your own hook on it. I put an EWG hook on and Texas rig a toad on the back.

 

I don’t throw tubes much but the ones I do I get from Get Bit Baits locally. They are popular on Green Bay/sturgeon bay.

For largemouth I like the Gitzit tube (internal weight) and

MegaStrike Mega Tube (rigged on a ShakE2)

Never fished a tube but for buzzbaits ive been really liking the SK Sugar Buzz. Free swinging head and nice skirts. Gets to the surface quick and makes a nice sound.

I’ve been using the new megabass Jamaican boa buzzbait. I think It’s gonna be my new go to it casts great and has a great sound.

I pretty much exclusively use Bass Pro tubes.

Is your intended target largies or brown bass?  I fish tubes regularly and I down size the tubes when I'm after brown bass because, well, their mouths are smaller.  I like the berkley power tube for largemouth and the zman tubez for smallmouth, both because of their durability.

 

I'll second the Cavitron buzz bait.  I think you can fish it slower than others and still keep the blades turning.

I don't think I've ever caught a smallmouth on a buzz bait.  Come to think of it, I've never even tried either.  Lots of largies but never a brownie.

For tubes, Snack Daddy makes the best that I've found. Original Gitzits are really good too, but for me it's a slender profile that always seems to work better. If I'm Texas rigging a tube and fishing it like a worm, any tube will do. For finesse fishing, I love the Snack Daddys. Also their Phat Head jigs are fantastic.

It seems like - based on my little research  - there are two schools of thought: 1) heavier the jighead wt, bigger the fish 2)lighter, more natural presentation for bigger fish.

 

Ok, I'm confused. Someone care to debunk the theory?

Yeah I could see that.  I’d mean if you put a 1/8 oz tube head jig in a tube. you can get it to do some wicked glide motions and work it like fluke Or soft jerk bait. It’s just going to take forever to get to the bottom but, it’s going to be a very very slow spiral down.

I've never used heavier weights for tubes so I've no idea how effective that is.

 

Have you try it, and had any luck w/heavier jig heads?

 I usually use heavier weights.  Standard weight I use would be a 1/4 oz.  any thing over 12-14 foot use 1/2 oz.  it will still kinda spiral down with the heavier weights but, it is a lot faster.  In deeper water I can still get it to glide and dart a short distance. 

 

for fishing smaller rivers 1/8 Oz is my normal weight for 1-5 feet.  Anything smaller than 1/8 and the current takes it down stream to much
