19' Laser Bass Boat

I just bought a 1988 19' Laser Bass Boat.  I bought it as a project boat.  It has a Suzuki 175 oil injected motor on it but it has a burned up piston.  I'm not going to keep this motor on the boat.  I'm going to put my Johnson GT 150 on it instead.  Don't know enough about a Suzuki to try to work on it is my reasoning.  I was hoping someone could give me some more info on the boat.  It now has aluminium lids on the compartments.  Not sure if came with them from the factory (most likely did giving Lasers racing history)  Any info you may have on the boat or motor would be helpful.  Thanks guys

Thanks alot for the info.  Mine is the 3880 flippin.  Thats part of the reason I bought this boat.  It has alot of deck (front and rear) for an older boat but not alot of storage.  Two really big rod boxes though.  

The boat has two built in battery boxes in the rear of the boat (one on each side) but nowhere to put a third.  I want to put my 24v TM on it but not sure how to mount the third battery?  Thanks again for thr great info. I want to learn as much as I can about this boat.

Very fast boats due to the tunnel V construction.

If the waves are over about 2 feet, you'll be in for a vertebrae compressing ride.

Also known to blow over if Horse-powered enough and the equipments design and ride characteristics aren't respected.

Blow over as in

You'll be alright with a 150 though.

Go over to Scream and Fly, there are some guys more familiar with the brand over there.
