I've long considered moving to Arizona, and I am finally ready to take the plunge! I expect that I will receive job offers in the next two weeks in Flagstaff and Tucson. I would love Flagstaff, even though it's expensive as heck, because I've got plenty of friends there. I would also thrive in Tucson because I am a heat-loving lizardman. There are going to be a lot more considerations that I take into account, but I'm curious what you Arizona folks have to say about which location would be best if I were only to consider fishing opportunities. Thanks!

Flagstaff is higher altitude and near the Moggolon rim lakes with a variety of fishing choices. Tucson is hot with fewer fishing choices, 2 lakes as I recall; Kennedy and Silverbell, Kennedy is decent bass lake. The Santa Catalina mountains offer fishing choices, not that familiar with Tucon area.

Phoenix area offers several bass lakes on the Salt River chain plus Pleasant, Alamo and San Carlos, etc.

It's the desert and water isn't common, it's transported from Colorado River or in the higher elevations.

You like it hot it's a perfect location.

the first ever time i fished for bass was in Tuscon.  Pena Blanca lake.  (i got skunked, but my mentor caught a giant.  i never forgot that fish coming out of the water!)

i made a vow to drive my butt over there with my kayak to revisit the venue that started all this madness for me.  soon.  i will be there bowhunting deer in January, so i might roof-top my kayak.

I will be moving back out west in the next couple years . Az as well probably a tick south or west of Sedona . While I know my way around the area fairly well I am unfamiliar with local bass fishing to the vicinity.
