GetFishorDieTryin Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 As the nights grow longer and water temperature cools the fishing heats up. With the Bass keying in on baitfish to sustain them during the winter months the Jerkbait can be one of the best options to fire up schooling Bass. Not to mention how fun they are to fish. Anglers from not only the U.S., but also around the world have the Mega Bass 110 atop the list. If you had to chose 1 JB in 1 color excluding only the MB 110 (the MB 110 Jr. being a viable option) to fish anywhere across the U.S. which one would it be? and why? Again you can only choose 1 color for all situations, must be a stock color, no custom paintjobs or alterations. The Duo Realis 110 has consistently produced fish in many kinds of conditions. Prism Gill is an ideal color for brighter conditions. I've also done well with it on cloudy days in low visibility and high visibility conditions. There are colors that do better in certain conditions, but Prism Gill always seems to get bit. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 16, 2020 Super User Posted September 16, 2020 I have this old JDM Flash Minnow that I really like. It's one of well over 200 jerkbaits that I almost always throw in early spring. It has a very subtle wiggle. The less you do, the better it gets bit. 5 Quote
camman Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Jackall Squad Minnow in Ghost Minnow...unfortunately they discontinued the bait, but I probably have 10 or so 2 Quote

Super User J Francho Posted September 16, 2020 Super User Posted September 16, 2020 That is a VERY warm hat that I wish I took off my head when my buddy blasted down the lake in his Gambler. 1 Quote

Hook2Jaw Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 We now know @J Francho's favorite jerkbait besides the 110 and his favorite hat. I'm not exactly broke, but I'm d**n cheap. The H2O Xpress Ultimate Jerk Shad is my favorite jerkbait this time of year and in the spring. My least favorite is the Berkley Cutter and Skinny Cutter. I stocked up on both hoping they would be better budget options. They aren't. They are trash. 2 Quote
thunderblack Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 I fish visions, duo, X-rap, twitch stick, shadow rap, pointer, and more and through the years the one that has been the most consistent is the silver XR10 X-Rap. You can throw it anywhere and it will get bit. With that boring choice being said the Vision is my most used. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted September 16, 2020 Super User Posted September 16, 2020 110s are cool. Not my favorite, by a long shot. 1 Quote

Born 2 fish Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 I really like the KVD jerkbait I have other vision 110s and so on but hands down the KVD 200 has put more fish in the boat than any other. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted September 17, 2020 Super User Posted September 17, 2020 I have caught more fish on a Berkley Cutter 90 shallow than any other. I have Ghost Bluegill and Yellow Perch. My #2, the Lucky Craft Pointer 95 in ghost minnow also deserves a mention as well. Quote
Nibbles Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 LC Bevy Shad 60F & 75SP. Brighter colors like firetiger/chart for murkier water, shad colors for clearer. Quote

Its obvious, if he doesn't wear that hat he risks loosing circulation to his head. If that happens then he won't able to access the memory of when where and how to fish well over 200 JBs. 3 Quote

I've put up more weight with an Olive Ghost Husky Jerk then my buddy using a MB a few times. Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 17, 2020 Global Moderator Posted September 17, 2020 Not a big fan of the MB 110 either. They catch fish but man are they fragile. I've found I fish too many rocks to own them apparently. My favorites are the Duo Realis 110 and Rozante 77sp, KVD 300 (excited to try the 100 also), 6th Sense Provoke 106, and the Duel Hardcore minnow flat sp (which I believe is now the Yo-Zuri 3DB Series jerkbait). Mbirdsley Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Limited success with jerk baits but, my favorite have been the kvd 300 deep divers. All I have are the kvd deep divers. I would like to get some shallow ones. I also of some smith wick rouges in both suspending and non suspending. Most of my shallow jerk baits are rapala’s. Picked up some lucky craft 112 mr ‘s to try that I am excited about. Next to months I would like to devote to jerk baits. Than try some walleye trolling before it iced up and than put the boAt up bombers and rebels I have more success just throwing them out and cranking them like a crank bait honestly Quote

I was looking at these yesterday, but have little experience with Yo-zuri. How are the hooks on their offerings? I'm thinking of picking up one to give it a shot along with some Jackall Rerange 110s. Caught my biggest bag of smallmouth this year mostly on one with the stock hooks. Unfortunately they discontinued the color that worked so well for me. Quote
