unhbass37 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 How well do the aluminum boats hold up? I was just wondering about leaks in the rivets etc? I was told the boat is mint no leaks ever, But was concerned because of the age. What are your thoughts on them. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted May 3, 2009 Super User Posted May 3, 2009 Tracker boats are historically good boats. Have one now and had one in the mid 80's. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 Have you had any leaks around rivets or other places? Quote
jmorgan1221 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Have you had any leaks around rivets or other places? trackers are welded, there are no rivets. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted May 3, 2009 Super User Posted May 3, 2009 Have you had any leaks around rivets or other places? trackers are welded, there are no rivets. My 1990 Tracker is put together with rivets and leaks like a sieve. I don't know when Tracker started making welded hulls, but I guarantee you it was after 1990. Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 Anyone know if a 1997 bass tracker pro 16 has rivets? I just don't want to drive 2.5 hours to find out it does. Quote

unhbass37 Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Great to know. I am going to look at on Wednesday and I will let you all know how it works out. He told me he will even put in the water to prove there are no leaks and drive it around. Sounds good to me. Hope gas will be good also with the 50hp Merc. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted May 5, 2009 Super User Posted May 5, 2009 unhbass, I paid $4500 for my '89 two years ago, primarily because the 60 hp Johnson was newly rebuilt. To tell you the truth, I don't mind if my boat leaks. That's what bilge pumps are for. I love my old leaky boat. BTW, jmorgan, as the old adage says "It is better to remain silent and let people think you are a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt." Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 Thanks Mike. I will post how I made out Wednesday night. I am hoping for the best Quote
unhbass37 Posted May 5, 2009 Author Posted May 5, 2009 I just called the guy to ask a few questions on the boat and was told it has no power trim so I am going to pass on it. I guess I wil keep looking. Quote
