Hook2Jaw Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Here recently, I've had fish eat my frogs on the run as I reeled them to me quickly to get them back in the thick. I've had a lot of luck making as much commotion as possible. Like everyone else has said, just fish it! It'll get bit. Quote

I was station with him for 3 years while in the Navy & in the same bass club since 1974. He was a excellent swimmer. He was having some Coordination problems. One afternoon Him & another club member were suppose to go fishing but he had to cancel due to a work problem. Jerry went by himself. When his granddaughter did not find him or his boat in the morning She call the the guy he was suppose to go with, who went looking at the landings we always fished out of & found his truck & trailer & called DNR & the Sheriff's office. Many of the club, DNR, & the Sheriff's Started the search. The club members knew what areas of the lake he fished 99 % of the time. The Sheriff's helicopter spotted his boat above the 95 bridge & started looking up there. The guys new better & stayed to the lower end of the lake knowing that the wind would have blown the boat that way that night. The Sheriff's People were looking up there to make sure. Jerry's older son & a club member went up to get the boat. When they got back to the landing one of the club saw that his life jacket & phone were laying on the drivers seat. so he look on his phone & saw where had caught of good fish & from the back round knew where he was. A few hours they found his body floating in the canal. Thank GOD the gators did not get him. I was not trying to be a smart a--. Just reminding people that S--- happens. With these light weight inflatable jackets I always wear it when the engine is running & the kill switch is hooked up to it. I fish pretty much during the week so most times I am alone so my life jacket is always on. Better to be safe then to have your family to be sorry. It does not cost you one red to wear it. One last thing I can also Swim. Appreciate the story - lol came off as a smarty comment so I threw one back! I fish the Mississippi so life jacket is always on when the boat is moving. I take it off when I fish but I'm never out alone.... 34 minutes ago, TnRiver46 said: Why would you need to walk a frog? They eat them pretty good when they are sitting still 16 minutes ago, J Francho said: It took me around 20 years of fishing frogs before I learned to walk them. I caught fish all along trying. Everything I see is about walking the frogs- that's why! When I'm not able to get them to walk, they are all over the place. Left, left more, even more left, pop out of the water a bit, pop again, now I'm going right...…..and then see guys on TV effortlessly having them dart back and forth. I figured I was wasting my time. I got into a habit of throwing one on every time I went out... after 5 or 6 casts I'll get frustrated and say screw frogs why do I need to use them. Sounds like I just need to stick with it a bit more! Quote

I have. 12 hours of fishing for ten minutes of footage. I bet they had some drunken frog footage. Walking is nice to know, and show your friends, but it isn't key to getting bit. Keep twitching, and catching. My only tip: it's a lot lighter a twitch than a typical spook cadence. Quote
