Hope this is where this post goes...I have to say we bought a net to bring in the heavier and longer fish and are very happy with results. Its a Ranger tournament series telescoping rubber dipped net. No problem with hooks getting snagged or caught and it moves fast in the water when it needs to. Long reach and don't damage fish, haven't had any big pickerel tear it up yet either. Wasn't inexpensive by any stretch but worth the cost for a net that truly does it all. Well worth it :)     Dave

Thanks A Jay you beat me to it! Will post a pic of the net in action next week hopefully. Got ours from TW during one of their 15% off sales 2 years ago, sorry we didn't get one sooner.   Dave

My next net will be a rubber one like that. All I have is a Walmart telescoping frabil. I’ll use it untill I need to replace it though. Think this is my 4th year of it.

Don't want to sound like a sales ad cause I don't really have anything to gain but if you read that link that A Jay posted it really does exactly what it says. Fish don't flip all around in it with the flat bottom and hooks have yet to get caught, its as fast as a normal net going thru the water (its rubber dipped not rubber mesh, they sell both) for fast scooping and you can extend it with one hand if by yourself (I found that out the other day). We got the extended version and I scooped up a lure my son had lost in a pickerel bite off in 6' of water.

We had a frabil from Walmart as well till we netted a lively fish with a treble hooked crankbait in its mouth, finally had to cut the one hook out and needed a net that wouldn't do a repeat of that. I saw one in action on a u-tube video and we decided to bite the bullet and buy one. Not cheap but well made and replacement nets for it are available at TW as well.

Been really liking the Frabill Power Extend. Easy to use, lift assist on the yoke for hauling in big fish (which I've used for lifting in some big catfish), lighted for night fishing, and it extends with just the push of a button.

A landing net is one of the most valuable things a bass fisherman can have.

Oh come on! you mean you don't lip em' just to lift them up outta the water :) ? They tell be that they have come in Maine from Canada and they are working down the Saint Johns river. Give them a couple years to get a little closer and I'll have to get a muskie rig and chuck them enormous lures.

Got to use mine last weekend. Not cheap but worked unbelieveably well. Its basically a livewell off the side of the boat. 39" fish in the water the whole time.

Bass and walleye get the frabill conservation series rubber coated. Very happy with that as well.
