Bass Talk Live is probably the most popular bass fishing podcast/radio show but you won’t like it. Most of it is tournament talk, but there’s still plenty of stuff to learn.

The only one that comes to mind at the moment is Tackle Talk with Andrew Hayes. I listen to him on Spotify. The shows cover everything from seasonal techniques, to baits, and he also does the occasional interview with a pro. My only gripe is the episodes are already kinda short and there’s always a few minutes of ads so then it feels even shorter, but hey it’s ‘free’.

I just realized there is also Alex Rudd, who has a youtube channel as well. He doesn’t host the podcasts regularly but  I don’t find the content as entertaining anyways. He talks more about techniques and tips/tricks.

I am a Bass Talk Live fan.  They talk championships, bowling, and whatever else they want to talk about but you also get some great lessons from the pros who won the previous weekend.  Usually 3 shows a week.

Johnny from fish the moment is incredibly knowledgeable for a guy his age plus he's is well connected in the industry. He has done several breakdown chats with Rick Clunn and is working now with seasoned pro Randy Blauket. For pure breakdown of area, bait and technique he may be the best right now.

Another one I forget to mention that I enjoy is Nature of Fishing. It is a YouTube channel run by bassresource member Paul Roberts. It's very in depth as well..he goes into lots of detail about time of year, water temps, water depth, lure choices in certain seasons or scenarios. He doesn't have a ton of content but the stuff he has is thought out and we'll done. Plus his videos are usually pretty long so they are worth the wait in between uploads.

+1

It sure would be cool if there was a single thread where BR members could post new episodes. Would keep it in a nice tidy place, not be commercial, and still remind me that there are new episodes out.

your videos are amazing too is the kind of content that i look for on bass videos and with lucky on podcasts, explaining techniques how/where to use it its amazing for those who wants to learn the art of fishing the topic is about podcasts but on youtube fish the moment, bass resource are the channels that i watch a lot and learned a lot with them each of those channels has a different approach to explain techniques they kinda complete each other except Nature of Fishing its a different beast, its a study you need to watch taking notes lol

Glenn’s videos are quite good. Tactical and Fish the moment are up there too. There are some smaller channels I like but the videos don’t come out as often, Mr. Bass is one that comes to mind. BTL is entertaining at times. I find myself fast forwarding through a lot of it though.

I used to listen to Ultimate Bass radio a lot and enjoyed it. Did listen to Bass talk live recently and it is pretty good as well. Not really technique though. Gary Dobyns used to be on ultimate bass radio a fair bit and was always a good listen. Sorry to Glenn I really don't do videos for fishing stuff, maybe I should but I don't.

Well, thanks for the kind words guys.  I'm truly humbled.

However I wasn't mining for compliments.  I was looking for reasons why my videos don't get mentioned much.  There must be several reasons.  I'd like to know.

That said, I realize the videos aren't the OMG!!!, shaky GoPro cam, 1st person perspective of fish catching with little-to-no educational content.  That's by design.  That's not my style, so I won't fake it, even if it's what all the other kids are doing.

Also, I don't mean to hijack this thread, so feel free to PM me with your thoughts rather than cluttering up this thread.

Thanks for the input!

@Glenn,

I'll tell you my thoughts about your videos, but you'll have to wait for it. . .

But seriously, I like your videos.  I've been learning a lot from them.

An excellent podcast is “tackletalk podcast”. Andrew does a weekly 30 minute ish podcast covering bass fishing and also does interviews. These interviews have included an excellent one with gary dobyns of dobyns rods and also with a fishing biologist that was quite insightful. Easy to listen to and interesting.

Hope you enjoy it, I started listening a month ago and have since gone back and listened from the beginning of October when it started. Andrew is also on Instagram and he welcomes any comments or questions.

Glenn,

The guys did get derailed and mention a few youtube channels, but the post asked about podcasts. At least me specifically, I was curious to hear about just podcasts. I don't have the data to stream youtube videos in the car all the time, I need just a talk show that doesn't involve me needing to see the screen to identify what the person is talking about (as I try to see the cover they are casting at and drift into the shoulder).

Great videos! Start a podcast channel and we will see if you make the cut :)

I support the idea a BassResource podcast , with interviews with people in the industry , techniques, lake reviews / reports

I am just not a consumer of videos. I do like podcasts because I can listen to them while I am working or just doing stuff around the house. Maybe I should make time for videos, but my preference is multi tasking while videos are playing or the TV is on and that is a not a good combo when trying to learn a new technique. I can't even watch a sporting event without doing something else as well lol.

Gary is a great interview. A long time ago it was interesting to here him talk about the split grip craze and how it messed with rod balance. He wasn't a fan, but of course had to make them due to demand.

bass talk live is a great podcast. I generally listen to them daily. Bass edge is okay as well but it's down to once a month I believe. FLW has one /w jodi and kyle that is good too but it's also sporadic.

@GlennAn actual podcast would probably get some additional interest - listen in the car on the way to wherever.

Podcasts and video fill a different spot for me.
