kjfishman Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Nice rod locker. I see I am not the only one using some round reels. 1 Quote
newriverfisherman1953 Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Now that is just showing off?!! Nice!! Quote
Way north bass guy Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Similar to A-Jays, but I had to remove my 8 crappy little tubes to get my rods in. So much nicer with the extra space to have em all in there. 2 Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted September 10, 2020 Super User Posted September 10, 2020 My bottom row is useless. It only holds rods up to 6'6". Top row says up to 7', but I can get 7'2" in the two middle tubes. Quote

ajschn06 Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Mine only holds 5 :( and I had to convert everything to less than 7'.... Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted September 10, 2020 Global Moderator Posted September 10, 2020 What's a rod locker??? Mine are in a pile on the left side of the center console haha 1 1 Quote
Super User FryDog62 Posted September 11, 2020 Super User Posted September 11, 2020 Here’s the Full Monty - all the storage in the Lund PVB is the reason I have a hard time considering any other boat! 8 Quote
Super User gim Posted September 11, 2020 Super User Posted September 11, 2020 Frydog with all that gear, a tough decision has to present itself when you fish in someone else’s boat: what rod n reels and what boxes of tackle do you take? So many decisions and you can’t take it all! ? 1 Quote

I’ve been known to open up my tackle bins for anything they want to use... haven’t fished in anyone else’s boat in 3+ years !! Quote
Logan S Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 What it usually looks like...I typically don't pack every single rod and piece of tackle into the boat, but it would all fit if I wanted to . 4 Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted September 12, 2020 Super User Posted September 12, 2020 Jealous of those PVB rod lockers. Here's a lowly Mr Pike locker. 3 Quote

Skunked again Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 (edited) 1987 Skeeter Strada F120. No clue as to how many it will hold, not much i'm guessing. Then again, for years I've always had 8 on the deck, would only use 2 or 3 all day. I cut the headwall out, could probably put a 9'er in there! Edited September 14, 2020 by Skunked again Asked a question, then figured it out! Quote

Casting rigs double up easy. Spinning rigs take up more space. And yes there is a color code deal going on in there with the rod sleeves. Makes it easier in the heat of battle to grab what I think I need. A-Jay 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted September 15, 2020 Super User Posted September 15, 2020 You guys with your big center rod lockers think you're so cool. Unfortunately mine is off to the side and its half the size because my boat isn't big enough. I can hold 7 plus 3 on the deck for a total of 10. And I keep an oar tucked down in there just in case I get beached. I can positively say that my next boat will have a bigger center rod locker. Quote

Many years ago we had a small 16 foot aluminum boat and rod storage was always an issue so we mounted some on the side and that helped. Quote

The vertical rod holders guarantee a broken rod as well as a hook in your thigh when you walk by them. I did have rod holders on the sides years ago but it was also a nightmare, I had to climb down from the casting deck every time I wanted a different rod . Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted July 15, 2021 Author Super User Posted July 15, 2021 Took a while but yesterday I competed a total Re-Rig ~ New main lines & leaders where needed, and some of them definitely needed. After sliding them back into the Lund I realized I had set a new personal best at 28. I may have a problem. A-Jay 1 Quote

A-Jay How do you decide which one to use - I have issues making that decision with only 12 rigs. d**n, Andy...you're making me jealous again. 1 Quote
