Looking to get a new spinning rod for Senkos (wacky). Was eyeing the Sierra. I know Dobyns rod's rating can be a bit slower than others, with casting at least.

I'm looking at the 7' medium/fast (703SF). Does anyone know if this feels like a normal fast action, or should I jump up to the med-heavy? Ideally I've always like medium/fast for wacky rigs.

Thanks.

I have a Sierra 702 that I use for ned rigs and grubs...it's a beautiful rod and I feel the action is rated right. I'd say it's a fast or maybe moderate fast as there is a lot of flex in the tip but it has a solid backbone. I've never used the 703 but I believe it would be perfect for wacky senko based off my experience with the model under it.

I have the Sierra 704sf m\h and I love it for senkos. It's very sensitive and more versatile to me because I like to throw alot of other stuff on it. It's a fantastic rod the build and looks on it is top notch! You might want to step down to a 703sf though if you're using it for more finesse techniques.

I have a 703SF Kaden series, and I use it for wacky rig.  It does a great job as far as I am concerned.

My wacky senko rod is a dobyns sierra 693 sf.  I actually like the 3 inch shorter rod for senkos since sometimes you are skipping around trees and docks.  Rod feels like it was made for a wacky senko in my opinion.  Balances better in the 3 power than the 7 footer.  I had one of those as well.
