After 4 years without my little boat and strictly kayak fishing from my feel free lure and hobie compass I finally had time to rebuild the lower end of my 1998 25hp merc. Looking for ideas on how to better utilize this 1967 whaler fir my fishing needs. Thinking about a platform on the front and somehow a bow mounted trolling motor. D677F327-9EC5-4173-B1B5-8BD8EDF758E9.jpeg.c1ef779372814a3eacd78157a234a8e9.jpeg

Tiny Boat Nation has some great builds mostly tin boats but no reason you couldn't adapt to your Whaler.  You could get ideas from them on Youtube and https://www.facebook.com/Tinyboats

The guy who created the group also has a really great YouTube with really in depth start-to-finish build videos.

I'd put a TM and bracket up front, update electronics, restore the teak, polish the gel coat, and go fishing.

Sweet ride, BTW!

If you want to go inexpensive you can use a transom mount trolling motor on the front with an L bracket.  I have a 14' glass boat that I did that and it works great.  If you want I'll take a picture.

That would be awesome. Trying not to break the bank.
