I prefer magazines, newspapers, and paper catalogs.  All of which will be gone soon.  I am not saying it is a bad thing, just that I will miss flipping through pages.

True. Everything will be digital esp now that we have the virus.

Is this one of those magazines with top 10 best bass fishing locations and those list are incorrect? You have a better chance at catching a 8 pound or bigger bass in any decent lake in Florida compared to a northern lake in New York, Nebraska, Indiana, or other Northern state where a 6-7 pound bass is considered a trophy bass. Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California have the best bass fishing in the USA and should dominate any top 10 list of best places to bass fish in the USA. There are so many ways you can learn about bass fishing for free that it makes no sense to pay for information that might be incorrect or biased.

Late to the party on this post. I just think this argument is silly. The best places to bass fish are not necessarily the places with the largest fish. Besides, you can't write articles - print or otherwise - and limit your reading audience to 25% of the country just because that's where the largest fish reside. Catching a 6 lb. fish in a "northern" state is just as rewarding as catching a double-digit in the "southern" states. In either location, you're fishing for the largest, most experienced, most wary fish in the area and catching that fish is going to be a challenge.

Though, I'm not an expert by any means, so that's just my thought.

The top 100 list Bassmaster publishes has their qualification defined and 1 big bass occasional isn't a factor. They look at average tournament limit weights and the overall experience of bass fishing. Outside of the spawning cycle Florida's overall fishing experience is good, not exceptional and a few lakes are always listed.

The top 10 of the 100 listing there are always a few surprises that makes it interesting.

I wrote this over a month ago and will write it exactly the same today. Florida, Georgia, Texas, and California has the best bass fishing in the USA. Look up Florida's TrophyCatch program and Texas Sharelunker program and you will understand why so many tourist visit these states for bass fishing. No need for magazines when you can visit internet forums and Youtube for free.

This was the explanation of the criteria and process for 2019.

"Hall explained the process of creating the rankings takes more than two months. State fishery agencies across the U.S. are polled and rank the fisheries in their states based on stocking efforts, catch rates and angler access. Then, B.A.S.S. Nation conservation directors add to the potential lakes list based on the thousands of tournaments they hold across the country. And finally, the data from dozens of tournament organizations, as well as big bass programs from various states, are analyzed to create the ultimate list of the Top 100 lakes. The rankings are debated by a blue-ribbon panel of fishing industry insiders. The final result of this research and debate is Bassmaster’s 100 Best Bass Lakes rankings published in the July/August issue of the magazine."

No process is perfect, but it looks like the rankings are not arbitrary.

I have the Bassmaster magazines, and I like them. My favorite part is probably the articles, although Day on the Lake is good too.
