Dove season opens September 1 in many states

I would love to but all of my corn fields have gone away.  I use to have 8 nice fields that I could hunt.  I hunted every day of the week.  One by one the crops changed or the farmers sold out or switched to beef instead of dairy cattle.  Now there is only one and so many guys hit it that it is shot out by the second day.  So good luck to you.  Get a limit.

Ca is infested with those d**n birds, I moved now its doves.

I wish NY allowed it but they are considered song birds or something so we can’t hunt em.

I was watching Roland Martin on YouTube yesterday. He was down in Mexico somewhere with the guys from Favorite Rods hunting Doves. No limits there. He said he got over 100 of them.

This used to be the case in Minnesota too.  For as long as I can remember, there wasn't a season because they were considered a "bird of peace."  About 7-8 years ago that was changed and they opened a season here now.  I don't hunt them but I do think there should be a season on them.  They can be managed just like any other game bird.

You guys are already hunting teal and geese down there? Jeez those are some really early seasons. And I thought our duck season was early in late September.

I’m not sure on the teal but there’s an early goose sept 1 and there’s still way too many geese everywhere. They encourage quite a liberal goose harvest but most people don’t fool with them. Here’s the pic I just received

Ya we have an abundance of Canada geese too.  There's an early season that starts here in a few days and the daily bag limit is 5.  Minnesota routinely leads the country is the quantity of Canada geese harvested.  I used to hunt them.  It can be a blast if you get on an active field.  The problem is what to do with a 15 pound carp with wings afterwards.  They really aren't edible and they stink when you clean them, especially in this warm summery-type weather.

Send them to me! I don’t even hunt and I love them. I’m sure you remember the pastrami threads from last goose season

Mourning dove season opens here in Ca on Sept 1, but I've been shooting Eurasian doves all years with and air gun. They are considered an invasive species, no season, no limits.  They are a lot bigger than morning doves and are delicious. Check your local regulations, you might be able to shoot them year 'round too. Good luck
