I replaced the impellar last year and nothing changed. if I idle it doesn't pee at all but if i run it will pee but very week. any ideas? someone once mentioned the thermostat? I would like to fix it myself I have some ability but not much. thanks

the "pee" is just a by-pass that shows you there is water running. if the motor is not over heating, its getting water, and the thermo is ok. I bet the "pee" line has some dirt in it. My Suzuki get like that all the time when I run it in shallow muddy water

try a few things.

1. get a paper clip, straighten it out and stick it up in the "pee" hole. This will help get any dirt out of it. You can do this while it is running and it will show you if this is working.

2. If that dosen't work. take off the hood and see where the hose is going to the "pee" hole pull it off and see if anything is blocking the hose

One other thing. I have a 15hp merc that had the same problem right after I had a shop work on the motor. ( not the shop I always use, I was on vacation in Canada and It stopped pumping water so I need it fixed right now, so I used a shop at the lake I was at, had them put a new impeller in)  the motor pumped water but not real good, so when I got home I took it to the shop I use and they pulled the new impeller out and it was in backwards

This pretty much covers what I was going to say.
