BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted August 28, 2020 BassResource.com Administrator Posted August 28, 2020 Let's start with Seattle's revamped defense....wow! With a ton of off-season changes, the defense is set to be one of the best in the NFL again, anchored by the top safety in league, Jamal Adams. 1 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted August 28, 2020 Super User Posted August 28, 2020 Is this the year that the Patriots actually DON'T win the AFC East? I think its possible that the Bills may be the better team. Hard to argue that the Ravens and Chiefs are not the two best teams in the AFC. As for the NFC, that is probably a bigger debate as you could make an argument for about 5 or 6 teams. SKOL Quote
Tizi Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 I agree with Glenn, watch out for the Seahawks, defense will be much improved and the offense was already Super Bowl caliber. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted September 4, 2020 Super User Posted September 4, 2020 As NFL teams wrestle with how to handle the corona virus pandemic, teams across the league have various guidelines about how to handle fans this season. Very few teams will allow a super small percentage of fans in their respective stadiums at the start of the season while others will open the year with no fans. Hope the NFL seriously considers micing up half the guys on the field during live game play, otherwise I fear this season's NFL product will seem over the top 'Hollow'. Can't do the piped in crowd noise - totally sappy. https://www.si.com/nfl/2020/08/26/nfl-teams-fans-stadium-season-coronavirus #hatethenewnormal ? A-Jay Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 7, 2020 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 7, 2020 Ok, is it sad that I miss pre-season so much that I'm watching Red-Zone replays from last year? I know....I have a problem. "Hello, my name is Glenn, and I'm an addict" 1 3 Quote

Super User gim Posted September 9, 2020 Super User Posted September 9, 2020 After the Ravens and Chiefs, I think there is a significant drop off in terms of quality teams in the AFC. In the NFC, you can make the argument that any number of 5-6 teams are quality contenders. The 49ers represented the NFC in the Super Bowl so they are probably the class of the conference at this point. Certainly the Seahawks, Cowboys, Packers, Vikings, and Saints are likely playoff teams but I don't think they are as good as the Ravens or Chiefs in the AFC. The NFC may be deeper in terms of quality teams, but the AFC has the two best teams. Quote
BassNJake Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 With the year this screwed up, it's gotta be the Browns year!! Unless they "stink" it up #Odell Beckham ? 1 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 10, 2020 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 10, 2020 As always, I think it's way too early to be making playoff predictions. It all depends on who's left standing at the end of the season. Gotta hand it to the Hawks last year. At one point, they had 17 starters sidelined, and had ZERO running backs going into the post-season. They had to get creative to fill open roster spots...even brought back Lynch for a grand finale appearance. But they still remained competitive enough to make a run of it despite the heavy attrition. Point is, injuries can ruin a playoff run; or in the case of the Hawks, leave them limping into the playoffs with no hope of going the distance. So...no predictions from me yet. Just looking forward to finally watching live football again. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 10, 2020 Super User Posted September 10, 2020 Well, if you ask any Dallas fan, this is The Year for the Cowboys... As it has been for the last 25 years! 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted September 10, 2020 Super User Posted September 10, 2020 No mention of the Bucs as a contender ? I clearly see Ravens and Chiefs in AFC and how would a Brady vs Brees in an NFC showdown sound ? Not far fetched imo. Quote

Super User gim Posted September 14, 2020 Super User Posted September 14, 2020 The question is, who do you think the WORST team in the league is? I thought maybe it was the Jags but then they beat the Colts on the road. Then I thought the Washington Football Team was the worst, but they came back to beat Philly by posting 27 pts unanswered. So these are my bottom 3, in no particular order: Jets, Bengals, Lions. Quote

That's correct. Brady and Gronk are just 2 guys. Talented, yes, but just 2 guys on a 53 man roster....and they don't play defense. Maybe if the Bucs make a few good drafts, trades, and free agent acquisitions, they'll be contenders in a year or two. But as good as Brady and Gronk are, they're not miracle workers. I will go as far as saying the Bucs will improve throughout the season, and will have a decent record at the end of the year. Possibly 8-8 or 9-7. Hey, at least they're not the Panthers. Quote

Burrow at least has a chance to be something and lead his team down the field at the end just to be spoiled by an injured (allegedly) kicker. Mayfield is Manziel 2.0 and their coaches and front office are terrible. How do you have all those weapons on offensive and come away with a whopping 6 points without a terrible plan and captain of the ship? The Ravens are good but they couldn't even manage any garbage time points. Quote

They were lucky to get their first touchdown of the season in garbage time today. They are sad in every area, offense, defense, coaching, front office and ownership. The bright side, no fans allowed in attendance for the home game. It hides the fact no fans want to show up for this embarrassment. 2 Quote
