NHBassFisher Posted August 27, 2020 Posted August 27, 2020 I am currently looking to purchase the first fish finder for my 16' Ranger, I would like to eventually get two fish finders (one on console, one on bow) but can only get one right now. Is the Lowrance Elite Ti2- 7" a good option to get for now? I now I would like to get a fish finder that would allow me to network to a future finder I will put on the console. I think for now I will get the Ti2 at the console and use an iPad as a second display with the app feature. I can get the Elite Ti2-7" for a discount for $525 right now, is this a good price or should I wait for Black Friday sales? I also wanted to get a Garmin but from what I researched the STRIKER series cannot be networked. Thanks in advance for any advice. Quote
Bassun Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 I hate that no one responded to this. I am actually looking to upgrade from some really old and kind of pathetic Eagles to either a Hook2 or Elite Ti2. I was actually thinking about doing the same thing pick up the Elite and mount it with the 3-1 on the console and a cheap 10 inch tablet and put it on ram at the front. I know I give up true information up front (I could keep the old eagle up there for accurate depth at the bow) but it saves a big chunk of money that way. I plan on making a big boat upgrade in a couple of years, and don't want to spend a ton on finders for the current rig. I was curious how well using the tablets has worked for anyone who has used them. It sounds like daylight display is going to be a real issue going that route. My phone is much brighter than any tablet I've seen - would be tiny but may be a temporary option lol. NHBassFisher - if you are still around, did you try the tablet option? If so, what are your thoughts? Quote
PNWBass Posted October 13, 2020 Posted October 13, 2020 Are there different elite 7ti models? I have an elite 7ti model, and I am less than impressed with it. I fish from a kayak and find that the only modes I use are the traditional 2d and chart. The down image option is not as clear for me as the 2d, and I’ve been trying to get it dialed in with little success. Side imaging is good but I don’t use it that much for the lakes I fish. My cousin had the hook 2 reveal or something and his down imaging is incredible. Just my opinion on how it’s been for me. For 500 bucks I’d personally look elsewhere. Quote
