Sunline Sniper + spinning?

Sunline website shows that the recommended lbs to use on a spinning reel is 7lbs, went to BPS and asked the guy that works there, he said people buy 8lbs and 10lbs to use on spinning reel without problems after the 10lbs they not recommend since the line starts to jump from the reel and causes a lot of issues

 

How far i can go on a 2500 spinning reel with Sniper FC? can i go above the 7lbs like maybe 8 or 10?

I use sniper on my size 2500 spinning reel, works just fine. If you are targeting bass, I think 10 lb is a bit overkill, and won't cast as well as smaller diameter lines.

Sorry, meant to say that I  use 7 lb sniper.

I use 7 lb Sniper a lot and it is fine for bass unless you fish a lot around weeds, skip docks, etc.  Open water it works great.

And do you believe Sunline is true to the 7lbs limit? i know some lines can go above the limite they say dont know about sunline

I think it’s close, although I look at line diameter as much as anything.  It’s a little thinner than most 8 lb fluorocarbon lines, but I have more confidence in its strength than any 6 lb lines I’ve used.

I am using 10# Sufix Siege on 2500 size spinning reels without any problems. I have not tried Sunline Sniper.

Whatever Mono/Copoly/FC/Hygrid line you choose keep .010D or less using 2500 size spinning reel, unless it's a leader for braid.

I predominantly use 5 and 7# Sniper on my spinning rods and it's been plenty strong (even landed a 30# carp on a wacky senko after running through vegetation and a under a couple docks). It's not quite Tatsu but for the price it's very tough to beat. As has been said, I wouldn't use 10# sniper on a spinning reel and 7# should be plenty strong for bass fishing as long as you don't tighten down your drag too much.
