Super User RoLo Posted September 1, 2020 Super User Posted September 1, 2020 2 hours ago, Catt said: @RoLo Two sons & I drove around the neighborhood, one house no damage the next destroyed, a 2' diameter tree twisted & snapped while a 18" diameter tree next to it not phased. It's wild ? Precisely what we've witnessed here in Florida. You would see a 20-yr old Fleetwood trailer that sustained zero damage, not even missing shingles or one broken window. Two doors down, a Palm Harbor was turned inside out like it struck a mine field, with furniture & insulation blocking the road. The only thing that comes to mind are local spinoff twisters (mini-tornadoes); either that or a religious connotation Roger 2 Quote
Super User soflabasser Posted September 1, 2020 Super User Posted September 1, 2020 This has been an extremely active year for hurricanes. Right now there are a couple storms that have potential to become hurricanes and it is currently the peak of hurricane season. Let's see what happens in the next couple months. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 1, 2020 Super User Posted September 1, 2020 Talk about one angry Cajun? To remove that one tree I've quoted as much as $18,000! Those people are on drugs! 1 1 Quote

Those people are on drugs! Maybe. When we had the Northridge quake, there were hundreds of fallen brick chimneys that fell down. When these were rebuilt, they could not be brick any longer, but the bond beam had to be inspected before you could do any more work on them. Well, I got to talking to a couple of other contractors about price, I could not believe what I was hearing...these clowns were getting 3 to 4 times what I was charging, and I was making good money on them, only cuz I was doing like 6 at one time. So, there's always idiots taking advantage of a sad situation, I'm guessing you already knew that though. Round up all your friends with chainsaws and get'r done..Good luck Catt. 1 Quote
Super User jimmyjoe Posted September 1, 2020 Super User Posted September 1, 2020 There have always been two kinds of people in the human race. The first kind picks you up when you're down. The second kind kicks you when you're down. It doesn't take too many of the second kind to ruin your day. ☹️☹️ jj Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 1, 2020 Super User Posted September 1, 2020 @Hammer 4 These clowns say "well your insurance is paying", I said yeah & when you leave with a fat wallet my insurance goes up. There are literally thousands of tree jobs so how much money do you have to make to be satisfied! 5 Quote

Super User jimmyjoe Posted September 1, 2020 Super User Posted September 1, 2020 Hey @Catt! .... what is The Cajun Navy? Are they for real, as in "Are they legitimate"? The word is that there are many fakes. How do we tell the real one? jj 1 Quote

GReb Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 If it’s anything like Katrina you have to watch out for those whackjobs that drive down from the Midwest trying to retire early off people who need to get a clue. Bad part is it worked Quote

My neighbor spent 4 weeks a year for 10 years volunteering for Habitat for Humanity to help rebuild in the poor neighborhoods that got hit hard from Katrina 4 Quote
