I love my Dobyn's fury 734 for an all purpose rod . I have it paired with a Shimano XLT 7:2. I Throw 3/8 oz Swim Jigs, Texas rigs,  Spinner baits, Chatterbaits, small jigs and Medium sized swim baits up to 4.8 Keitech. Works great for all of them:)

Did you mean Shimano SLX XT?

I have had better luck with a 6 speed especially for swim jigs. I don't understand why this is fact, but slower gear ratio with single hook moving baits is the deal.

I guess I'm not seeing the logic of complaining about an excellent multipurpose tool and wanting to get rid of something that does a little of everything.

*Gary Dobyns and some of his Pros use a 734c. to throw Super Spook top water lures on - Gary claims it's the ideal rod for larger ,  walking top water lures .
