SkinnyPants89 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Looking to pair my Diawa Tatula CT Reel with a nice reel in the med heavy range. Mostly seeing Dobyns Fury and St. Croix Mojo Bass for the about $100 range. What you guys think of those and is the Diawa Tatula Rod worth the jump to around $150? Quote
TcRoc Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 I can just comment my opinion on the Mojo Bass jig n worm . I just got the 6’8 Medium heavy fast and it’s a broomstick to me. Tip has next to no flex. At first I thought I liked it .. but not now. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted August 22, 2020 Super User Posted August 22, 2020 No Fury here. One Mojo Bass in Medium only. Admit to being bias about the Tatula rods. Unfortunately the way things are right now finding a good deal on one is going to be hard. No longer available at Sportsman"s Outfitters for $110. AFAIC they are worth full price, but I don't pay full price for my rods or reels. Amazon has the 6'10" MHF for $131.99. Best I could find right now. Quote
Bassinislife Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Worth an extra $50 not sure to me no but to you maybe. I’ve seen the tatula rods on sale for $109 before if you see them on sale then go for it. A lot of people seem to like the Dobyns fury rods I’ve felt them in store, not to bash them but they seemed a little too heavy to me maybe with a reel them would balance out. Also take a look at shimano curado rods. Look for sales go to stores see what you like. one persons “favorite”rod you may not like at all. 1 Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted August 22, 2020 Super User Posted August 22, 2020 I think it's absolutely worth the extra money. If you find them on sale, even better. I've only used the 704c Fury, but I would rather pay retail for my Tatula rods than buy another Fury on sale. I've seen the Tatula Elite rods on sale for just under $150 at times and they're another step up as well. Quote
ike8120 Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 Take a look at the Spirale on TW site. Not a bad rod for under 100 Quote
Tizi Posted August 22, 2020 Posted August 22, 2020 If you can find a Tatula that fits your needs, that is the rod I would get. The 6'10" MH is nice all-around rod. Quote
