Ravox Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I’m on a quest to find the perfect line for me, tried fluro (hell for spinning, and most of my equipment are spinning) braid (avoided this one cause I hate leader knot) I believe the perfect line still do not exist, but yo zuri hybrid is close to that since looks like works for every application, how about this line for texas rig (worms, creeatures, etc) what do you guys think? plawren53202 Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 I use hybrid/copolymer (Sufix Advance copolymer; have also used P Line Floroclear copolymer) on my baitcasters for similar reasons as you. I fish texas rigged baits on these setups all the time and have experienced no problems. Copolymer to me is the best of mono and fluoro; it's much more soft and forgiving than fluoro, but has much less stretch and more sensitivity than straight mono. I'm usually using 4/0 and 5/0 hooks and have had no problem driving the hook home with the copolymer. 1 Quote
waymont Posted August 17, 2020 Posted August 17, 2020 Spinning gear and braid is a great combination. For me, it is the perfect line for spinning gear. Either suck it up and learn connection knot, or use it straight. It will be great for what you would like to use it for. Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted August 17, 2020 Super User Posted August 17, 2020 YZH is good. YZH with KVD line spray is very, very good. 3 Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted August 17, 2020 Super User Posted August 17, 2020 For every technique at one time or another. #4 on spinning tackle; #12 for baitcasting gear. 1 Quote

I use it on various rigs and multiple techniques as well. 4#-10# on spinning depending on reel size, 12# on two of my BC rigs. 47 minutes ago, Choporoz said: YZH is good. Super User BrianMDTX Posted August 17, 2020 Super User Posted August 17, 2020 I have 8 lb YZH on my spinning finesse rigs and 12 lb on my baitcasters. I have no issues with using it fishing T rigs or wacky style. And yes...I use KVD before every trip. Quote
Super User WRB Posted August 17, 2020 Super User Posted August 17, 2020 I wouldn't go over 6 lb / .010D Yo-Zuri Hybrid line on spinning reels to size 3000. If you want line over .010D on a spinning reel use braid with a leader or learn to use a bait casting. Tom 1 Quote
Super User NYWayfarer Posted August 17, 2020 Super User Posted August 17, 2020 This season for Texas rigs on my baitcaster I have used 10# Yo Zuri hybrid and 10# Berkley Big Game mono. The Big Game came after I ran out of Yozuri hybrid. I saw the same amount of catches on both lines. I think I will be sticking with the Big Game. 1 Quote
jbrew73 Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 I have used yz hybrid and recommend 12lb for baitcasting unless you’re in heavy cover. it really is a great combination of the benefits of mono and flouro at an affordable price. 1 Quote

Tom Good advice - also either have a store spool your reel up where you can bring theem just your spinning reel spool OR buy a Berkley reel spooler where you can take off the spinning reel spool to spool line on ... Avoiding line twist is key when spooling up new line is key . Quote
jbmaine Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 6# Yo-Zuri Hybrid ultra soft for me. That's all I use, Never had a fish break the line. Quote
