Global Moderator 12poundbass Posted August 16, 2020 Global Moderator Posted August 16, 2020 What’s the consensus on this crank? The reason I ask is a regional chain store has them on clearance for $2.50. I rarely throw cranks but at that price the bait monkey is pushing me to get some. 1 Quote
Finessegenics Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 I’m no expert on cranking either, but they are my favorite shallow cranks. My local tackle shop always has them in their discount bins too, not sure why. I’ve never had to mess with them out of the package, always swam true and straight. They have an aggressive side to side wobble and it rattles loud. They’re easy to cast and the stock hooks seem pretty good to me. 1 2 Quote

My local Ollies had a shelf full of the rattling and silent models for $3 or $4 each but I passed. Might have to go back and grab a few to try out. Quote

Mine did too, also had a bunch in lucky craft stuff. I bought more than a dozen square 5s and half dozen of the flat 7 Quote
Smalls Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 They seem to either be unpopular, or just not talked about. I like em, and have had a lot of success with with em. They're a pretty fat profiled crank, and that definitely has a time and place. They also seem to deflect really well. I can't remember ever getting one hung up, even with those giant #2's hangin from em. Quote
Super User Teal Posted August 16, 2020 Super User Posted August 16, 2020 I think from the last thread I read about the. ARASHI is that most guys called them decent. That was the consensus. No overwhelming majority loved them or hated them... most said they were solid lures. Arashi does have a unique action to it. And they have other favorites like the typically.less expensive KVD SB. I the OLD LC 1.5s have a good following here as well. I like them... always have been one of my favorite big square Bill's. So for 4 bucks. I bought quite a bit. Ollie's also had LC staycee, LC bevy shad, lc gunfish, the LC rattle trap, and alot of the big 2.5 sqaurebills, and pointers and pointer dd..all the LC stuff and under 6 or 7 bucks each. I stocked up....alot Quote
frogflogger Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 My favorite for a number of reasons - mainly they catch fish. 1 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted August 16, 2020 Super User Posted August 16, 2020 I have some of them and caught fish with them. The best color I have found is the bluegill pattern. I have caught fish on back to back casts with it. I think these baits have been discontinued since they used to be around $8 or $9 bucks a piece. Quote
Hewhospeaksmuchbull Posted August 16, 2020 Posted August 16, 2020 I like these baits, the two I have hunt pretty well. Nice erratic action on a straight retrieve. Quote
