Hmmm.... I grew up on old school C&W...I mean, old school.  Jimmy Rodgers, Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Charlie Pride, Tammy Wynette, Johnny Horton, June Carter, Roy Clark, Patty Page, Hank Williams, and Jim Reeves.  My parents had quite the record collection, and I've heard all these artists albums over and over again.  My folks were also into square dancing big time.

My first concert, at age 7, was the Statler Bros and Hank Snow.  Watched Hee Haw every week.

This is a cool thread.  Brings back memories.

But...does that mean I prefer old school country over the new stuff?  Naw.  Really, I like it all...for the most part. Luke Bryan would be the exception. LOL

Let’s fire this back up! I heard this song this morning on my way to pick up groceries. Great tune!

This first  one is sort a lament for Floridians who are old enough to remember Florida before all the development came...

Then my favorite cheerful sounding lonesome song...
