Super User South FLA Posted April 9, 2009 Super User Posted April 9, 2009 Quote I put Popular brands on the poll that are the biggest in the south... I didnt add boat company's to the poll that arent real big around here. there are a few Skeeter around here but not a lot.. I put boats brands that there are A LOT of! thanks and enjoy your boats guys! Also the statement about Nitro being rated close to the bottom, well years ago say 2002 and before I wouldnt own a Nitro for nothing... now days Nitro's are VERY high quality hulls and fish as good or better then anything out there (I have never fished a Champion or Stratos). The only thing I dont like about my Z-9 is it has to high of a draft and doesnt float in Shallow enough water forcing me to buy another ALUM bass boat to fish some areas that I fish.. Oh well nothing wrong with having both other then my wife being ticked. My Dad owns a Z21 21 foot 2008 Ranger and My Z-9 Rides better fishes better and is faster then the ranger and was about 7 grand less with the same engine and more less the same options. I paid 56,700 for my rig out the door my dad paid something around 60-64,000 for his rig... IMHO I got FAR more boat for cheaper... Other then the Draft problem I love my Z-9 I used to owner a Blazer and it fished GREAT but didnt have close to as big of a deck as the Z-9 and wasnt as stable and it could be a handful to drive at times but it had a really shallow draft and I loved that about it and it was 25MPH faster and at times I miss that but at times the blazer would scare the hell out of you.. it was a quality hull and If I had the money I would love to have my Blazer and the Z-9 lol... I still need to speak to a Bullet owner I have some Questions about a 20 foot Bullet Merc 2.5 (280HP Offshore) boats running 103MPH with one person, no gear and half tank of fuel.. We can not get this boat setup to be fairly easy to drive it walks all over the place.. I have A LOT of EXP driving a 100MPH rig when I owned my Blazer and it drove pretty easy it just got hairy at times when it was over trimmed or the Jack plate was to high and what not.. more less it drove great unless there was some driver error.. We cant get the bullet to not walk even when its propped perfect and its balanced to a T.. and on totally flat water it feels like its skipping (Hull jumping out of the water totally off the pad) once it hits about 93MPH and wont stop till it hits about 97MPH that 4MPH is scary as hell.. please any help on this matter would be great... Its my Brother in laws boat.. he dont fish much just likes to ride but for the life of me and my dad (we have been around boats since I can remember) can NOT get this d**n thing setup.. On my Blazer once I got a good trim and jack plate setup I could take my hand off the wheel even at WOT and the boat tracked true and didnt walk hardly at all it took some time getting it setup but it responded well to different props and trim/jack adjustments. the Bullet just doesnt respond to anything other then Trim and one more thing it has Seastar steering on it and still the prop torque makes you keep a strong arm on the wheel or it pulls like crazy... no hull ive ever had or drove had more then a little torque feed back when running Sea star HYD steering.. his is crazy bad almost feels like cable steering and its been checked out and its perfect so its not a bad steering unit... please guys I know there are plenty of people on here thats drove very fast hulls and knows a thing or two about boat setup please help I dont want him to sell the boat because he and my sister really enjoy fast boats.. but this thing is just not drivable and very unsafe.. any one who has ever drove a 90+MPH rig knows anything mishandling at those speeds becomes very unsafe VERY fast lol well this boat mishandles from 80MPH and higher. I am not knocking your Nitro man just going of JD Power and Associate rankings which doesn't rank the likes of Champion, Blazer, Legend, etc., but they seem pretty unbiased. Also fellow forum member George Welcome owns one and is on the water 24/7 and likes it. Bass Cat though keeps winning! http://www.jdpower.com/Boats/ratings/bass-boat-ratings Quote

The Next KVD Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Currently I'm runnin a Nitro but hopefully in the next year or two I'll get a skeeter or ranger. Quote
Mike 12345 Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 I'm in an 18' ProCraft right now, but my heart is set on tracking down a great condition used 20' Stratos SS Extreme. Quote
Super User flechero Posted April 10, 2009 Super User Posted April 10, 2009 I'm in a 94' Champion... I'm the original owner! ...lol I miss some of the more "modern conveniences" but I'll take no payments over 8' rod boxes, any day! Seeing lots of tritons and nitros in the last couple years but until recently, the majority of (glass) bass boats were skeeter, champion and ranger. Every time I see a new boat going down the lake, my first thought is "I need to get a new boat" but my very next thought is "I don't want a $500/month boat payment!" Quote

lv2fish Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 I dont know about anyone else but i can only use one rod and reel at a time. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 I'd have to see video proof of a Blazer going 100 mph (off the trailer) to believe it. I voted OTHER OTHER = Gambler Quote
