I plan on either pairing with a Aldebaran BFS or Daiwa Air Stream Custom. I plan on throwing mostly 1/16 oz Little Snakys, Yo-Zuri Pin Minnows and small Marabou Jigs in local ponds. Would like something longer than 6ft. Budget is $130-$200.

I bought a MajorCraft Benkei 6'5 UL/F which is rated 1/32-1/4, I have it paired with a Alphas Custom Finesse with a DIY Ray's shallow SV spool with 10lb J-Braidx8. With that spool, the rod handles down to 1/24oz comfortably with distance and accuracy. The rod itself is pretty darn sensitive, and has good backbone. I can lift a 1.5lb bass with it pretty easily.

Kastking has BFS rod called the Zephyr, it is only available from overseas at this time. Comes in both spinning and casting.

The Zephyr is a trout rod, not really enough backbone for bass fishing.  BFS rods are very different from trout rods and it pains me that so many manufacturers either intentionally or unintentionally blur the line.  Trout rod blanks are much thinner in the butt section than BFS rods.  For instance, my JDM Daiwa Bass X 64LBY is 10mm in the butt section with a 1.5mm tip.  It's a fast action that bends in the top 12" and rated for 1/16 to 3/8.  My Kuying Teton is a through and through trout rod.  It comes in at 6'6", rated for the same lure weights as the bass rod, but the blank is 7mm in the butt section and 1.4mm in the tip.  That rod is a moderate fast action with a parabolic bend that goes almost down to the reel seat.  Trout rods are designed that way because those fish have softer mouths which makes it easier to rip a hook out when fighting them.  Having a more moderate action helps immensely in keeping them pinned.

So what do you plan to use snaky for? I like snapbean better in small pond, snaky to me seems to work better in stream (running water)

I was using snap beans in northern MI fishing brook trout this past weekend, that dark purple color was the ticket Saturday morning.  Had a nice lunch by the campfire that afternoon.  Brookies cooked in bacon grease, can't go to a restaurant and order that :)

Just have had good success on them around here and also I have quite a collection of them from trout fishing.
